That's a pretty nice turn around in less than 48 hours ;D
of course I agree it's a long way from a hit but it's only just gone for adds this week so I'm not surprised that it's not sitting in the top 10 yet.
I'm curious though, if you don't mind indulging me that is, what changed from yesterday to today? Did you go back and look at the chart trajectory of Adam's other songs and realize that he's more of a slow builder?
I'm not complaining about the change in opinion just wondering what brought it on since nothings changed that I can see for the song.
Since I lived thru the long slog of Adam's past singles, I did not have to look it up.
I have not changed my opinion of BTIKM at all. In short...
It is too early to know what BTIKM can do.
I am pleased it is heading up on the chart but would like to see it higher.
RCA is responsible for selecting, promoting and selling the single.
RCA needs to change the dynamic -- they can either ramp up promotion or change singles. They will promotion this album.
I expect RCA will ramp up promotion of BTIKM when they release the music video.
>>Apparently one of my posts has been misinterpreted and twisted.<<
>>I am not posting this to cause anyone angst or rehash. Adam is doing fine and his
success is very important to RCA. They will promote this album.<<
I will make one attempt to explain and because this is no longer news ask that if you have comments or questions about it, please send me a PM.
Toby posted this:
While the song has been gaining radio airplay momentum, initial reports from sources close to Lambert's label have expressed a degree of interest in what
could be considered less-than-overwhelming single sales via iTunes and other digital music services. While exact figures are unknown, it's believed label sources wanted to see more units of the single sold.
Some people responded to Toby and said it couldn't be true and called Toby a liar, etc. We all saw it on Twitter. If you missed it, be happy. It was not pretty.
I was responding specifically to comments calling Toby a liar and posted this:
I have no idea what RCA has told Toby but the track sales for BTIKM are
not great -- and airplay is anemic. RCA could do something to change the dynamic or RCA could change the single. But something will change.
I know only one thing for sure -- RCA cannot be happy with the single's performance.
One sign that this is not the single that RCA hoped is that Adam did two important performances of the song on TV and the track did not move that far up the chart.
I am not giving up on BTIKM but numbers are numbers and the track does not have really
good numbers so far.Read more:
adamtopia.com/index.cgi?board=daily&action=display&thread=677&page=48#ixzz1kVuMhqvBLet me translate this into plain English ---
1. I believe Toby heard what he said he heard. I believe (and posted) that he should not have posted this comment.
2. Major labels, including RCA, always want the easy and cheap route to a hit. It rarely (maybe never) happens. They put this single out there for 4 weeks and expected Adam fans, internet buzz and a couple of TV performances to drive sales. That plan is not working.
3. RCA is responsible for selecting this single and for promoting it. They have the numbers and they will do what is needed to promote it, or they will move on to another single. But I have confidence they will do what is needed to promote TRESPASSING.
4. We know from previews and numerous comments that this album has a lot of possible
singles. Even Adam said three tracks were in consideration as the lead single. And since labels regularly switch singles when promoting albums, switching is always possible.
I have not given up on BTIKM. I have posted for weeks that there is no reason to expect anything from it until after the Impact dates. And were are there now.
I am puzzled by the somewhat low sales of BTIKM -- Are fans stealing from Adam? Are fans waiting for the album? I believe fans are waiting for the album. Adam has more than 60K fans. So where are they?
I am puzzled about what the Top 40 Impact date even is. Was it 1.24.12 or is it 1.31.12?
And how could the disconnect go unnoticed?
Finally, for weeks I was puzzled about the unusual promotion of BTIKM -- now I have moved to disappointed. And just to be clear, I am disappointed in RCA, not Adam and not in the song.
So yes, my opinion has changed in the past 48 hours -- my opinion of RCA. I was skeptical of RCA's ability to promote Adam. Now I am disappointed in their promotion of Adam. I hope that the rumors are right and RCA has a big push planned for the next week. And I really do not want to see another long slog for an Adam single.
I am an Adam Lambert fan, but that does not require me to like RCA.
Sorry for the long post but I felt it was important to explain it more clearly.

Do you think some fans didn't buy the single because they received it for free when they pre-ordered the album?
Or that some are waiting for the album to come out?
I really would be surprised if Adam's fans are stealing the song. We seem to be looking for ways to throw our money at him. We know that is important, and we want him to have his dimmers. By the way, where does the 60,000 number come from? Just curious.
