Number ONE killer of our children are the guns, more precisely people with unlimited access to unlimited number of guns. We should concentrate on that.
Having Active shooter drills at schools (justifiably out of necessity) is much more of a problem than teaching respect towards fellow human beings, even though they might be different from one's own "ideal".
Getting too close to a political discussion so I'll stop here.
Go Adam!

I'm not surprised Adam and his community are angry. Drag, trans, gay, etc. are the current boogeyman to detract from the real problems...they're a distraction. God forbid we do something about hungry children, about the excess of guns, etc...let's focus on drag queens and gay people instead. Don't look here to serious stuff we're ignoring, look at that group over there...it must be all THEIR fault. It's an old, been there, done that method...they just keep finding different groups of people. Works every time. ETA: Both of my kids went through the public school system...and no, drag queens, and CRT and whatever other bullshit was NOT on the curriculum...they learned how to read, how to write, and how to think for themselves.
Agree. Books in schools that acknowledge race or that LGBT contributions does not mean teaching about drag queens or even sex. It is just something they throw out there to justify adults with issues who want to make some kids and their parents feel like the "other." If they can dismiss them or make them disappear even better. Reading and writing and math and history are still a thing, lol. But kids are dodging bullets that could kill them but that doesn't seem to bother some of these concerned adults. TBH, I have no interest in drag queens or men (gay or straight) who wear dresses for attention. But I don't go to where they are performing just to complain or take away their living. But I don't go to rap concerts either as I have hardly any interest. They are entertainers and adults can choose to go and take their kids (when appropriate) or not. Newsflash, minorities and LGBT people are not going to go to the back of the bus or back into the closest. Some of these so-called leaders need to GTFU and stay out of the business of those who are not harming them. I stopped going to church a long time ago but have not spent one minute trying to get rid of the churches or the people who get something out of attending. All beliefs are not the same but some level of respect to not discriminate is much needed.

Well, something set Adam off and he felt compelled to let off some steam as he has a right to do. If somebody doesn't like drag queens, don't go to a drag show. And keep your kids at home if that is your choice. There are plenty of events that many kids just aren't ready for. But this drag show topic has been so weaponized, far beyond just the "not for children" thing. To Adam it's an attack on people he knows personally. He sees it as a diminishing of human beings whose intentions are not to harm anyone but to maybe broaden people's attitudes a bit. I dunno. I can't read his mind. Drag queens aside, I think getting to know people different from ourselvs is usually a good thing.
