This is so anecdotal, but worthy of note (at least to me) as we see all these neat things happening this week and next. For over a month, I have been hearing little snatches of a song on the radio. I really liked the song but somehow I never seemed to hear the title or the name of the artist. I would try to remember the lyrics so I could google it or look on the station's playlist and try to figure it out, but kept forgetting -- who remembers something like that when you get to work or get home and have to start dinner? Anyway, this morning I heard the song again and made it a point to memorize some lyrics. I finally looked it up and it was Drops of Jupiter by Train. The point being it practically took an act of Congress just to get enough information for a 99-cent download. No wonder it's a slow build, even for a song getting decent play on that station! I hear you! It used to bug the cr*p out of me, until I found an app for my iPhone called Shazam (don't know if it is available for non iPhones, sorry). Basically, it will listen to a snippet of the song, send it to their data base, and let you know the name and artist of the song. As long as it is not a live recording (I tried it when I was watching a festival footage on Palladia or something) it should work. Also, Drops of Jupiter is a pretty old song (in terms of radio). It was released in 2001, so maybe that is why DJs don't announce it? Hope this info helps.

I first heard it in 2000. Took me 6 years to find it. And this song is fun but nothing special. I just couldn't get this out of my head. It was nightmare

There is a similar app for Android phones called SoundHound - works great!

This is so true. I quite often hear a song that I like and the DJ hardly ever gives the artist's name. Drives me crazy. This is one of the reasons I love my satelite radio - It tends to be very consisent with having the info available for the song you are listening to (both Title & Artist). I tend to leave mine so it shows the artist, but switch to title if I need that info. I also love the sound quality & variety of stations. My mom's new car shows info for over the air radio IF the station is broadcasting it - that seems to be somewhat iffy. Some stations are really good and others don't bother at all. Some weirdly will show something like "Michael Jackson - Thriller" for that song and then just leave it as that for the next 10 songs, so you are listening to something totally different, but it still says Michael Jackson! I have that feature on my car radio and it is still incredibly useful. Even with not always updating or not always getting it. Before what I used to do was try and remember one line of lyrics and then search for them to find the song. Worked pretty well, but it was easy to forget the exact wording.

I'm going to PIA from a completely different track today, I hope you forgive me if this seems blatantly obvious, but from reading around various fan places it may not be. IF you want to give Adam the greatest support possible right at this moment for era #2 BUY HIS SINGLE BETTER THAN I KNOW MYSELF
Buy it whether you listen to digital music or not, Buy it whether you particularly love it or not, Buy it if you stream it on youtube or spotify also, Buy it if you regularly request on radio and vote on online polls or even if you never do, Buy it if you got the free download with the album, If you already bought it, heck, why not, maybe buy it again. If you aren't able to buy it, people LOVE gifting, make them happy by requesting it Buy it symbolically for someone else who didn't/isn't able to buy it Everything else - radio requesting, video views, comments on articles, twitter trending, clicky polls, promo spots are all designed to get people to BUY THE SINGLE and to BUY THE ALBUM. More sales will lead to more radio play which leads to new fans hearing the music and buying it. They are assuming that committed and connected fans who have heard it's on sale will buy it. Make it easy on Adam and his team, just do it! Think of it as bus-fare for the next leg of this wild Adam fan ride
