Here are some basic Twitter how-to's:
If you include @adamlambert in your tweet, it will go to Adam, and also to anyone who follows both you and Adam.
If you send out a general tweet without an @twitter Name in it, it will only go to your followers.
Any name or phrase can trend if enough tweets include it, but many people like to draw attention to a trend by putting a hashtag (#) in front of it.

If you want to Tweet TO Adam or anyone else, the Tweet needs to begin with @adamlambert or @adamtopia (this site's Tweeter account) or @ followed by the Twitter ID. Otherwise it will just show up as a mention. This is the Twitter Help description: What are @replies? An @reply is a public message sent from one person to another, distinguished from normal updates by the @username prefix. If a message begins with @username, we collect it as an @reply. Reply publicly to any update on Twitter by using the @username format. Following is not necessary to reply to someone, and all @replies directed to you are visible in the Mentions tab on the Connect page. (Tweets with @username elsewhere in the Tweet are also collected in Mentions; Tweets starting with @username are @replies, and Tweets with @username elsewhere are considered mentions.) Please note that if your Tweets are protected, users who are not following you will not see your @replies or mentions.Link: support.twitter.com/entries/13920-frequently-asked-questionsThere is a lot more basic Twitter info at the above link.

Why doesn't Yahoo moderate their comment section on Lindsay Parker's site? God, the nastiness. Makes me sad.
No way to report the jerks without a Facebook or Yahoo account, which I don't have...

There may be a mix-up of two different things: one is the buying of BTIKM for Adam's bday, and the other is the twitter bday wishes, with the ice cream avis. The purchases of BTIKM craazy suggested can be elongated to include the world-wide Sunday, and I think it's a good idea. The birthday wishes you may want to tweet in the day itself, in Adam's time zone. Sunday in Europe starts when it's 5pm US East coast tomorrow, or 2pm West Coast. But if we want everybody to be aboard the avi change, we should start twitting a little earlier something like "Before wishing Adam a happy bday, let's change our avis to mint-choco-chip ice cream! Please RT". I don't think we should mix the buying thing with the greetings. I feel they should be two separate things, and the buying shouldn't be directed @adamlambert, only the greetings, IMO.
