The arts and humanities are often the subjects that get kids to come to school in the first place, esp. in high school. Of course, every facet of education is important and I respect all of it, but school is not just job-training. It should also offer enrichment for the soul, which is what makes life worth living for a lifetime.

Plus it helps kids discover themselves and their talents, which in turn really helps with self confidence. Not every parent has the money to offer lessons of all kinds for their kids. I was a single mom and our son, starting in elementary school, wanted to try absolutely everything, from sports to tap dancing to learning instruments. I just simply couldn't afford it, and my ex didn't want to help with that at all, so son had to choose 1 thing he wanted to try and go with that. School offered him the chance to try baseball, soccer, basketball and track. It also allowed him to join band, even though clarinet wasn't his thing, but he ended up teaching himself to play guitar.

I saw Fairyland at the Sarasota art film festival... Just so you are not disappointed .. the star keeps talking about Charley,Adam's character, but there is very little to see of Adam.. He
has a few lines and you hear him laughing in the background in one scene..My daughter loved the film ,I didn't ,the only reason I went was to see Adam...Cost $25 a ticket..

This so true, the arts are so important. As a person who didn't have the opportunity to participate (school didn't offer, parents couldn't afford) I can really appreciate the importance. I was astounded when I saw what my childrens' school offered. It made such a difference creatively. They learned to think with both sides of their brains and out of the box. The arts are so much more than just the arts. Of course, selfishly, I wish Adam were on it, as well. But, he can't do evrything

The arts are not just fluff. Yet, they are often the first things cut from a budget. A class in the arts can change a person forever, for the good. Goodf for the brain, the soul and the heart.

Thank your for the update. Adam did say he had a very small part. I guess it is good to start small and work up, if it is something you are not sure of. Although, I have to say we have seen Adam a couple of times on different things and I think he is pretty good.
