Muffin Man's explosive success is due to it being a silly children's song that lots of people know combined with Adam doing it with a spot-on Cher imitation along with givig it all his glorious camp. It's so simple to sing. There are hardly any lyrics. It's wonderfully repetitive so you can do all sorts of silly antics with it. Adam hit the bulls-eye on this one. It's just plain fun. And it sounds like some people are just now discovering Adam with this song. Whatever it takes. LOL I'm sure Fallon is aware of the fact that it went viral. Adam's segment on TMJ is getting tons of hits. I agree that Adam hit the bulls-eye on this one! Thanks Jablea for posting the link to all the Tik-Tok videos. So many of them made me laugh really hard - a good way to start my day! I have "Muffin Man" rolling around in my head constantly - it's a very contagious song. People discovering Adam is a wonderful thing, even if it takes a silly parody of Cher and "Believe". Even my DH loved it when I showed him the video from TMJ. He couldn't believe how much Adam sounded like Cher. Adam is so incredibly talented! He never ceases to amaze me, time and time again. I spent too many minutes (okay hours) on the site my earphones went down. I think the Fallon's team is totally responsible for setting the stage for this going viral - they posted the orig on tictok, sent out morning of airing vids w/Adam background to lots of media outlets making the long youtube version immediately available, posted the Facebook video at 7am that morning too. Oh, they did two versions of it on Facebook. the first is the long one with the intro etc 9.3k comments, 30k shares. The 2nd is the short version with 5kcomments and 21k shares. Let's just say it's blown up the Tonight Show timeline too. Of course they always do a bit of this. This week's show with Kesha has the performances out on Facebook (not good sorry). One thing that Adam lucked out on was his group, not just his partner but all three others. Kesha's group (the men anyway) were awful at supporting the other singers. Two more lumps on the log would be hard to find.

Well, Fallon's actual show is incredibly dumb, IMO, so if you have lumps on the log to go with the concept, it makes for a crap show. At least it looked like Adam's group had fun doing the segment.
That's definitely not a show I would watch other than for Adam lol. I think my idea of fun is definitely out of step with the rest of America...would explain why I find Tik Tok the place where brains and intelligence goes to die. That app has produced some of the most inane content.

Being on a silly show like Jam can pay off. Adam's streaming of his own music increased a bit. And some people said they discovered Adam by watching the goofy thing. It doesn't hurt Adam one bit. And it's given him a bit more exposure to people who didn't know him before.

I totally appreciate it, but just find it ironic that as much thought as he puts into his music and music videos (ie getting older), he gets attention because of a silly nursery rhyme, and THAT'S what people pay attention to. Oh well, we live in a very weird time line lol.

But he seems to get a lot of attention for that too so this is a welcome change, lol.

Haha, just listened to the interview posted above...isn't Wembley the stadium Brian refuses to perform at? Or am I thinking of somewhere else? I just giggled when Adam said he'll be singing Queen songs there. Wonder if Brian and Roger will mind.
