So, ever since it was announced that Adam will perform here in Israel, I've been wondering what was the promoter's thought process behind it, to have the concert at such a large venue (about 6k seats) and with such pricey tickets, when Adam's never had any radio play here and I don't know who his audience is. There were a few acricles a couple of weeks ago - in Israel's biggest outlet too - but I haven't seen any more promotion since. The truth is I was afraid the concert will be cancelled. But today I received a mail saying the venue has been changed - it's a smaller one but still very decent, about 2.5k seats. It's called Heichal HaTarbut, and it hosts a lot of classical concerts as well, so the acoustics there are good. And they said ticket holders will have an upgrade, so all in all it's good news

Good for Adam, that it is not necessary for him to cancel. I know he identifies with his Jewish roots and his Israeli fans have been asking for him to return for years. I am wondering how many acts would have been willing to lower their prices for fans. Just another reason to love him. However, the fact that they are also citing security makes me a bit nervous. I don't know if things changed recently, but unless he is with Queen, I don't think Adam travel with a whole lot of security. Please correct if I am wrong!

I doubt the main security would fall on Adam but would be provided by the venue. When Adam had that bomb threat in Russia, they had to check and clear the place and provide security before the concert but it didn't fall on Adam. The same when he played in Malaysia and the religious fanatics were having a meltdown over his sexuality, that arena was surrounded by police and that was not from Adam. Those fanatics said they had no plans to harm Adam but no one was taking any chances that he or the 17k fans would be harmed.

Katycake, has the political situation calmed down any in Israel? Not really, although the plans to overthrow democracy seem to be on hiatus... But the political situation doesn't impose any security threat. Security-wise we'll probably be calmer than usuall in the near future after the recent military operation, but then again, prophecy is for fools, and that's twice as true here in Israel. p.s. I don't mean to sound cryptic. The bottom line is, I wouldn't worry for Adam's personal safety.
