You know, after this I'm not so sure about the band anymore... Adam was awesome, but - Well, maybe they just need lots and lots of practise. I'm still lovin Trespassing <3 What was wrong with them? I was pleasantly suprised by Tommy's playing and Kevin's playing was gorgeous on Outlaws of Love.

Can you say "ass" on the radio? Random I know, but we will here those songs soon enough and i am not going to angst too much about it. hahaha... I was thinking the same thing. But you know what? Maybe other pop artists or rappers, I wonder if Trespassing will be release as single in US or if radio will play it because of that word. I think Europe, Asia and Australia will not care

That was fun ;D
We got an appetizer sized sample of Trespassing, it was tasty.
I thought the band sounded just fine through my headphones

has some problems, but here it is ... all that we could hear When I came across this sign saying who are you and where are you from we don't like when visitors come. Love these lyrics. He sounds so badass!!! Love the part that alludes to his Burning Man experience. In one interview he talked about that being a jumping off point with Pherell. Can't wait for the rest!!! It really is his story....

It had to be though. This is not a random audience, this is a showcase for radio people. He needs to showcase his new album. He can't do that with just one song (BTIKM) that isn't even the most representative. He HAD to include another new song IMO. On the other hand, I agree with people who said that there is still a lot to go before the album, and Adam cannot afford a less than perfect version of a song to get out there. It would be ALL OVER the internet, and people would start making opinions based on an acoustic version, that does not represent the song perfectly. And then they would have difficulty selling the produced version. So it's a hard place to be in, but I totally understand their reasoning. This was just done poorly on the part of the streamers/radio stations, who messed it up. I am frustrated too, but on this one I actually can't blame Adam or his team. Yeah, I guess I'm just confused at the whole acoustic thing. The album is being marketed as futuristic pop, production-wise. How are they going to give radio personnel an idea of this by stripping the songs to melody and lyrics? Plus, he really downplayed the vocals on BTIKM until the very end. I just think the whole set sounded dreary. This is not my usual opinion, which is why I'm a bit disappointed. I'm just hoping this whole Europe promo tour isn't done acoustically, but I'm guessing it will be. This is exactly what Adam did to promote FYE -- an acoustic tour of Europe, comprised mainly of appearances at radio stations, with a few showcases thrown in. I believe it worked just fine last time. FYE was billed as a glam pop/rock album, but the acoustic performances were well-received. For the FYE promo tour, he performed a number of songs including WWFM, Music Again, Sleepwalker (2 of which are on the Acousic Live EP). Acoustic versions of songs are not "inferior" versions -- they are just different arrangements. The point of the tour is to promote Adam and build awareness for the release of BTIKM and the album, not to duplicate the sound of the album. It's possible that he is playing album cuts for radio personnel as well. As for today, I can't comment a lot on the actual performances, since the livestream was a joke -- it kept cutting in and out for me when Adam was performing (of course it was fine when the DJ was playing music!). From what I could hear, Adam sounded good. I think we need to remember that this was the first performance of most of these songs by this particular band configuration, so there may have been some nerves. There may have also been some sound issues. Next performances will probably get better.

OK - I should go back and read, but the comment about the audience and that Adam/band must not have been good enought to fire them up really surprise me. I watched the feed from the time Racoon came on through Adam's set. That crowd was the most animated they had been all night by the end of Adam's! They barely responded or even clapped for Racoon - sort of polite opera clapping by only some of the crowd. They wandered around and barely moved when the DJ played Aretha! Long before Adam came on, twitter was joking about them and how maybe it was a group of accountants or lawyers something else with the rep of being boring.
The band seemed fine to me - the piano in OOL was gorgeous. The sound mix seemed off (and Adam addressed that at least twice that I remember) and the stream probably didn't give us anywhere near what was happening live.
