Awww. I didn't realize before that the audience sang Happy Birthday to him. The next time I worry about something like "OMG THE CROWD IS DEAD" I plan to slap myself briskly around the face a few times. The really stupid part is that it did cross my mind that the mix for the stream might be muting the crowd noise (his performance on Ellen sounded completely different on my television than from the website) and yet I went to the Dark Side anyway. /hangs head Okay, Gods/Goddesses of the smileys, I need one slapping myself around. Did my mediabase requesting this morning on WDCG-FM and what do I see? They have added WWFM back on their playlist of current songs. This radio station put WWFM on their playlist in Jan 2010 but did not play it at all until it had reached it's peak and Adam was on Idol. They then played it sporadically for about 2 months then never again. It disappeared from their playlist about Sept 2010. IIHY got a shorter playlist time and even more infrequent spins. I've been requesting BTIKM 2-3 times weekly since early Jan by writing the song in and it has still not appeared in their playlist. Could they have got the songs mixed up? It's a Clear Channel station. This will happen on many stations -- all formats -- Adam is back, fans are requesting his new song, they play his biggest hit. It is a good thing!! Also spins of IIHY are back up again. Airplay is airplay and it all is great. ETA: Flail about Trespassing -- but request BTIKM!! |

Wow. Thanks so much for that link, adamfanem. That's brilliant.
Anyone else want to bitch slap that chick with the pink sunglasses on her head? She's not 10 feet from Adam singing that song. I'd be standing there mesmerized in a puddle of goo with a kleenex stuffed in my mouth hiccuping and trying not to sob out loud.
ETA: Okay, I forgive her now. She was clapping along with Trespassing.

I love Trespassing so much! And Q3, how do we know the song is begging for a "real dance remix" when we haven't even heard the full production yet? This is "only" the acoustic.
People please don't forget about BTIKM. One of the dangers of having the uptempo Trespassing out is that it steals buzz from the single. I can feel it happening with me, and I am someone who actually likes the single. Having said this, I will never understand RCA. I don't know why you wouldn't lead-off the album with something as addictive and uptempo as Trespassing. Plus, it's the title track!

noreaster, I am joining you in the /facepalm.
It turns out the audience reacted as well as they could have for what it was (not fans). And by Trespassing, he had definitely won them over! I love that crowd video!!!
AND I LURVE TRESPASSING, IT'S MY NEW JAMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!
ETA: But I lurve BTIKM acoustic version too. And that second time, when he sings "but I would never" and he switches it up from the original melody, is sooooo gooooood. (at around 1:52 in the official video posted above)
