Just got here, luckily already after dinner:
I can retaliate with the German version there-of. It's called Saumagen, and I save you the picture, just provide the link for those with either full or otherwise very healthy stomachs.
A former Chancellor of Germany (Kohl) ordered that all the time in local restaurants and the rest of the country was wondering whether you could trust a statesman with obviously very deranged decision making processes if this is what he ended up ordering off the menu:

I'd take the decent bread and beer though that goes along with it. - lol
The good news is Adam was in Stuttgart and Frankfurt and potentially Mainz (not sure on the last one) and while that is not far from Palatine area of Germany, it is far enough that we do not have to worry about him, he will be fine. He is on his way to Berlin and tomorrow night he'll fly to UK (but not Scotland!). All should be well with him - Germany has lot's of significantly more appetizing choices available for him, no matter where he is going to be.
