So great to see Adam on cover of Pride magazine! He so deserves the honor. The airline situation is getting pretty dire. I hope Adam is able to get to Londnn on time. He's got that award he's receiving and then there's Trafalgar Square. He's gotta be there. United Airlines is the headline sponsor for this, and Adam is the headliner. United will get him there! Ditto ljsmack...great to see you...I have always loved that IIHY avi of yours.

Too funny, I had noticed that right after the news report that United was the airline with the 10 hour line!!! LOL - I am thinking this also may not be for international flights. The storms were throughout the US and planes that couldn't get where they were supposed to be for the next flight. International may be different.

What always concerns me is that people with the means and the need to get somewhere pay someone something that they can,t refuse to do something dangerous. I hope Adam doesn’t have that mentality and I don’t think the airline situation is that bad. Unfortunately, I believe that is what happened in the Kobe Bryant tragedy. Just my opinion. It’s not really clear if the airline backup is due to the weather, or FAA staff being low. But let’s not be alarmists. Maybe things will clear. It's a cascade effect. Can't get a plane on route1 then it's not at the new city to do route2. Sometimes the plane gets there but the crew has put in all their hours and the crew that is supposed to be flying it couldn't get out of city 1. And they can't just get the plane there the next day because it's already scheduled and filled up with people with tickets for the next day. I don't know if the emphasis on hubs is supposed to help - I think it does on mechanical delays etc. But when the weather hits then one hub closure puts everything belly up. And the "low cost" of airline travel just means stuffing everyone in like turkeys with no extra seats to take those stranded. If they do find a seat it's because people who were supposed to be seating there didn't make their route1 connections. If Day 3 passengers show up and it's a good day to fly they probably never notice the Day 1 passengers that are still looking for a lift. Airlines have already pissed off Day 1 folks and they don't want to piss off Day 3 folks also.

Never enjoyed flying and would only fly when there was no other choice. And that was pre-pandemic, lol. I had made up my mind that if Adam re-scheduled Vegas after the pandemic, I would force myself to fly to Vegas. But he solved that for me when he decided to make it a Halloween theme show. HA. I would still love to see him in Vegas tho if he ever does a residency that does not include Halloween. The last time I saw him was a very long drive to see QAL. I know QAL is sold out now but I'm still thinking when the time comes, I may be able to get late tickets if a long Amtrak train ride is feasible or I find someone who wants to make a long drive to see someone they are not really big fans of, lol.

I flew to Vegas the last two years for Adam but I can fly nonstop from Guadalajara so it isn't terrible. I wasn't going this fall for QAL but broke down a few weeks ago and bought tickets for Dallas - also nonstop and 2 1/2 hour flight. A good friend just returned last night from Houston - avoid it like the plague for the next few years. Her 6 am flight (2 hours) was delayed 2 or three times and she finally got home at 11 p.m. United had pilots but no planes, then had planes but no cabin personnel. Luggage was a disaster and she stood in line (75+) for almost 7 hours to be rescheduled.
Evidently Houston is tearing down the two domestic terminals, building others and much more. Not scheduled to be done until 2024.

We recently got stuck in Budapest for 3 days flying Budapest-Heathrow-Seattle. We would do our online check-in 24 hours prior, then a few hours later we’d be notified that one of our flights had been cancelled and we’d been rebooked for the next day. We finally made it home after 2 extra nights inBudapest and one at Heathrow. Still waiting for reimbursements and compensation from British Airways. I love to travel and see new places - but the actual getting there, not so much!
