Very nice and well deserved award for Adam. A little surprised that GLAAD has not recognized him lately as his foundation has done some good work teaming with them and other LGBT organizations.

Just randomly watched Adam's video of Closer to You Live. What a phenomenal voice, video, look, everything. It may be my favorite. Closer to You is also one of my favorite songs. I wish he would sing it more. I have only seen it on Corden and the Christmas special in 2019 where he wore the white suit. It is such a beautiful song.

Closer to You and Feel Something should have received more of a push and recognition. Adam had not released any music in 5 long years but when he did the Oscars with QAL, he released Feel Something and the press went wild. They had been waiting for him. Then just as quickly his team said it was not his single and only a teaser. And interest dropped like a rock with no promotion. They tried to recover much later with the promotion of New Eyes but the long awaited new music moment had been lost after the Oscars and the documentary publicity. And promoting NE as a selling point of what he felt for Javi, at the time, was not that important except to some fans. And he later dropped that angle. If you are dating a regular Jane/Joe and not another celebrity or someone with huge accomplishments, the media will not care that much or for long about the significant others of straight or gay celebrities. |
