I wonder why Adam is giving the finger in these photos? It would be interesting to know the context?? I think the guy had made some comment that Adam was showing off the new ring he had bought lol. I think Adam was just goofing off. |

By Adam's acting debut I think they mean in movies. Cause Adam has some acting credits on tv that he still gets some recognition for, Glee, RHPS, Moonbase, PLL. Every little bit counts and adds to his resume. He always seems to get good reviews each time he steps out no matter how small the role.

lurleene, thanks for reminding me about a few other things on Adam's plate. I had forgotten about the Formula 1 performance in Texax. When is that happening? I also forgot about the animated series he talked about earlier. His voice work on the animated projects he has done has been excellent, IMO. Can't wait for more! Needless to say, he has a lot going on behind the scenes. Each project gives him more connections and more cred and more experience and more respect.
happy, thanks for the info on Donna Summer. I always liked her and thought she had a great voice. Sounds like she and Adam have had a similar journey in some ways. So true! Formula 1 fits somewhere around the time of the QAL N/A tour tho separate. I haven't seen the Donna Summer doc. but I saw one for Mariah Carey. It was an eye opener to hear about the millions they spent to launch her career. So I guess we are lucky that Adam was able to launch with much less money tho not to her level. When Barry Weiss left as the head of RCA, (he was very much in Adam's corner but restricted by the Idol contract) he went to Def Jam and launched Frank Ocean. Frank said in one interview that Barry put up over a million to get him going. I don't think any of the Idol winners were launched with that kind of budget from the label in the beginning. And 2nd place got even less to launch. And I remember Sam's label saying they got him the deal to introduce his single on radio where they played it every hour on all the stations for about a week. If your lead single from your first album cannot take off after that, there is something wrong, lol. Stay With Me went to #1 on pop/HAC/R&B/AC and Alt and top 10 on Rhythmic even #35 on rock and a few other charts. They had him covered on so many formats so no surprise that everyone knew of him and several Grammy's came his way . And it was more about his talent and not all about his sexuality. With the right push/support and money and not limiting him to just pop anything was possible for him. But when Sam first appeared on the scene he wasn’t open about his sexuality. I saw an interview with him where he said he was advised by management to wear suits - and was told not to dance because his moves were too effeminate!!All this makes Adam’s success all the more extraordinary. Just as he is…he has ploughed an extraordinary furrow through talent and hard work and refusal to be anything other… And you’re so right about Adam and Pop categories. Why oh why? |
