I think the music industry should be included in protecting themselves from AI just like the writers and actors are trying to do.

SAG-Aftra has been on strike. WGA is the Writers Guild of America and they write for Broadway. Broadway actors may also be part of it, not certain. They have not been on strike. The members have until tomorrow to vote whether or not they want to strike, as well. I first heard yesterday they were supporting SAG-Aftra, but now I hear they have their own issues. According to the news, Broadway shows could start to close as soon as tomorrow. quackn the WGA DOES NOT write for Broadway! They only write for television and film. Their strike is against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). Their strike started in May. You might be confusing the possible strike on Broadway with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) who threatened to strike if the the industry did not negotiate a new contract. At this time they have reached a tentative agreement to avoid a strike. However the union members still have to vote on the agreement. Btw these union members are not writers. The are back stage people like dressers, hair and makeup people, stagehands etc.. Thank you, TOMBA, yes, there are so many unions it is hard to keep them straight. The news talking head did refer to the WGA, but then an actual reporter later on gave another acronym, the one you are speaking of. thankfully, I have just heard it looks like they may have a contract and not strike. Just hoping all the others get what they deserve.
