I think a collab with Pink would be great!!!! That's my wish!! OMG yes that would be awesome!!!!!!!! Her voice has just a bit of an edge of grit, and would be a good contrast with Adam's. I know Adam idolizes Christina, but I think that collab could seriously turn into a screaming contest!  |

my guess is adam's talking about bowie. who else would he be so excited about? and since they both worked with Nile Rodgers, maybe he acted as liason. they could hook up when he's in nyc next week...yes I have it all planned out :D

Collabs are not duets. This is not some choral group. This isn't Broadway or Opera. This is Pop music! Collabs in Pop music are typically two artists taking turns singing different parts of the song. Adam will not have to "blend" or "dumb down" his voice for anyone! He will do what he does best and the other artist will do what they do best. That is why the most sucessful collabs are singers that don't have the same vocal stylings and usually they are from a completely different pop category. Why do some always think a collaboration is some type of vocal competition? It is not- it is a COLLABORATION of two people with completely different vocal stylings. I see your point. Still. do. not. want. This is just me. I find Adam's voice so beautiful, so interesting, so effective, so perfect, that trading lines or trading verses, for me, is the sound equivalent of taking a bite of chocolate mint ice cream --- yummmmm-- then taking a bite of brussel sprouts --- ewww. I prefer just to have the bowl of ice cream and let someone else have my brussel sprouts. Now, if Adam were to collaborate with a singer whose voice I found equally compelling and interesting, it would be more like, chocolate mint ice cream, yummm, crunchy waffle cone, yum. Can happily take tastes of each, and even combine them. Problem is, I cannot think of a pop singer out there whose voice would be as satisfying and complimentary. Like I said, just me. YMMV. **************** Cassie - I agree. Your ice cream/brussel sprouts comparison reminds me of the Adam/Chris duo w/Queen. Just no comparison. Repeating myself, the only voice I can think of that is so good to listen to/feel is k.d. lang. I guess time will tell - I really have a feeling Adam will have his way. |

I am so with you on this. The strain in Bruno's voice that many people like makes me cringe. But, really, who could sing with Adam and not suffer from the comparison? I want a collaboration where Adam is stretched and challenged, not dumbed down. Adam, probably from years of singing in ensembles, just blends his voice with others so as not to disrupt the unity of the group sound. Don't. want. that. Collaborate with producers, musicians, song writers, designers.. that's all cool. Not with vocalists. Or at least not with the vocalists in pop music that I have heard. A vocal collab doesn't have to be two people singing at the same time, though. I think collabs with very different voices are awesome, and it's not a contest of vocal prowess but rather a study in contrasts and a musical conversation. Katy Perry/Kanye on E.T. Eminem/Rihanna on Love the Way You Lie. Natalia Kills/will.i.am on Free. Just off the top of my playlist, lol. When I see Adam's happy/hopeful face and his crossed fingers, I can't help but want this for him, whatever it is. It's gonna be one song out of 12-14. Plenty of other songs where it's all Adam all the time. jmho ymmv  I quite agree with you, NoAngel.I want this for Adam, too, and think it could be cool, fun and successful! |
