I think Adam is a great role model and spokesperson for the LGBT Community. His foundation, forums and interviews and support are great encouragement and very important. But like Lizzo with her weight and outfits for maximum attention, striking back on social media will only bring you press and more trolls. It never makes them stop. I know he wants to defend his weight (before), his boyfriend, trans youth and drag queens but the ugly attention will only get worse when you fight with fans, non-fans, trolls on social media. The press picks it up and the trolls love it. Some of the comments on some of the publications are awful not only against Oliver (who most don't even know) but more against Adam too. It makes me very sad to see Adam being attacked and called vile homophobic names. Not the kind of press and publicity that he needs. Well, the very homophobic, ugly comments under the JustJared Instagram post had been there, before Oliver and later Adam posted their statements on Instagram. Since then some Glambert posted positive comments (they are NOT replying to the haters and engaging with them). So by now the comment section looks much more divers. I think it was good, that Oliver did his post. Even on some Adam Fanpages I did see some fans, who said that Oliver was trans or identified as a woman. Although it says on all his social media accounts, that he identifies as „he“. And Adam’s statement then makes it clear, that trolling Oliver is not okay and that he knows about it. So in the end, Adam‘s and Oliver’s comments won’t stop homophobia, but some Glamberts might think again, what they are spreading about Oliver among fans.

I don't think their statements will stop anyone from thinking and saying what they think. How many people would be following Oliver's or any non-celebrities social media accounts? It may make some feel better but it is still ugly publicity that will not stop anyone from their homophobic attacks. But that is just my opinion. I saw it with Kelly Clarkson's weight issues and the negative comments have been going on for years in publications and comment sections no matter how many times she says she is happy with her weight. Stars and celebrities will be attacked. It doesn't make it right but it never goes away. I just hate to see these attacks against Adam but not really surprised as some were just waiting for a reason. Hope we get some more career related news for Adam or QAL soon and let him enjoy his personal life in peace, lol.

I both agree and disagree. Engaging will not stop the vile comments. However, I believe in some cases you need to defend yourself. I think it is a good thing that Adam defended his partner. I would expect it of my significant other. Not being on much social media, I have not seen comments by fans about Oliver.

I too would be keen to read the entire article outlining what Neil was sharing about Adam and himself. DancyGeorgia… can you lift out the word text, or add another screenshot of the entirety of Neil’s comments. Much appreciated! 🤞🩵 (I looked under the twitter for this account… however the posts are from all different years…so gave up scrolling down the posts.)

OT: I did not realize that Jennifer Hudson's son was now a teenager. Time sure flies. But she seems to be grounded and teaching him some valuable life lessons. It is a shame that you have to teach your young Black son to be aware of how the world judges him based on his race and how he presents himself but it would be unrealistic if you did not. Jennifer Hudson Opens Up About Raising a Black Teen Son and the 'Many Layers He Has to Learn' Jennifer Hudson tells Real Simple about her sharing historical moments with her son as he navigates life as a Black teenage boy. Hudson notes, "My son goes to a predominantly white school, and he has giant hair, a whole afro. He loves to walk in there with the big old ’fro and the pick in his hair. And I’m like, 'Do you realize the statement you’re making? Know that just wearing your hair like that is a statement alone.'" "Being a mom of a Black son, you have to make him conscious of and aware of certain things—who he is within the world. And there’s so many layers he has to learn! But he’s at an age where he can fully understand it. And he’s so evolved beyond what I could ever imagine." www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/lifestyle-buzz/jennifer-hudson-opens-up-about-raising-a-black-teen-son-and-the-many-layers-he-has-to-learn/ar-AA1eKqxU?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=64ce718d68f24601a0c0d56bddb58da8&ei=69

I also wondered if Adam would go to the Eras Tour show as it has received very good reviews from the critics. I thought he might go just to enjoy the spectacle of a big well-produced show. I often wonder if he feels just the slightest pang of jealousy that he is not in a position to put on a big show like that. I know that he is grateful for the career he does have but there is always the "what if" part of life.
And I'm glad that Oliver and Adam both made statements. I don't read the comments but I can imagine. If I were them, I would leave it at that and not engage with the haters.

I too am not a big fan of Taylor. It's not that I really dislike her, but I just find her music rather boring and repetitive. Of course, Adam has me very spoiled with his musicality, performance skills and drop-dead gorgeous and powerful voice (one in a billion and GFG, to quote a very famous gentleman).
I found the discussion yesterday concerning how much fashion and what we as women were "allowed" to wear has changed over the years. Showing my age here, but at my Catholic high school we wore uniforms and the girls had to wear skirts. The guys were required to wear ties. Then when I started veterinary school in 1969 (at age 20), all female veterinary students were required to wear skirts, and the guys had to wear shirts and ties. This was at a public university in Michigan! The female students were only allowed to wear pants or coveralls when we were working with large animals. Finally in 1972 the women were finally allowed to wear white pants and clinical tops in the small animal clinic. Needless to say, the veterinary students were very recognizable on campus before 1972!
I also was very interested in Oliver's post about his fashion choices and his reasons for them. He and Adam seem very happy together.

Not a big Taylor fan either. But her fans love her. But I'm not interested in most of the pop/dance music or acts as they sound too much the same and their dance routines are more important than the vocals it seems. So she is no better or worse than many others, imo. Could never understand all the worship for Beyonce (great dancer) either but there it is. HA.
But I thought it was nice of Taylor to give all her truckers for her tour $100,000 bonuses and $55M in bonuses to all on the tour. Yes she can afford it but it was still nice of her and for them. I also thought it was wonderful of Adam to give all his band members a check when everything was cancelled for the pandemic. Not the same level but he was not obligated to do that either. When those who have so much can do something to help the others, it says a lot.
