Perez is the 21st century version of the old Celebrity Gossip Columnists. I think it is more about that style than anything with Adam. Most of what he writes about Adam is pretty nice -- his is a quote from a random post: "Tumblr Adam Lambert's "F*ck yeah" Tumblr has won the MTV O Awards. Fab! It's nice to see Adam getting some recognition! He's such a sweetheart in person, and we couldn't think of anyone better for this!" It almost sounds like he does get recognition so it is nice he finally won something. Setting the Perez style aside -- Perez is more aggressively political on LGBT issues than Adam is -- particularly in 2009 when Adam thought he could "just be a singer who happened to be gay" this was an issue. There are some other personal dynamics involved but I think mostly Perez is not as scummy to Adam as he is to some other celebs. |
