8.21.23 Adam News and Info

Wondering about Adam and Oliver. I don't believe the hurricaine hit where they are, I think it was further East by the time it got to that area, but not sure. Also, if they are in the hills, I wonder about mudslides.

Regarding John Deacon, in my opinion, I think it would be unfair to Neil. He picked up the torch and ran with it. John has reaped the benefits, but hasn't done the work (the touring with the present group). He wanted out. So, let him be out.

From what I‘ve read over the years, John and Freddie had been very good friends and John was probably closer to Freddie than to Brian or Roger. But the main reason for his „retirement“ - according to the band - is the simple fact, that John had always been the shy one, who just wanted to make music. When Queen‘s success exploded, he was more or less caught with it. They had all become close friends, but John had his problems with all the touring and leaving his family and (I think in the end 6) children at home, while he had been on tour. He had almost lost his wife in the mid 80s. I remember a video of the very end of their last tour in 1986, when John just threw his bass away, smashing it into his amps and leaving the stage. He wasn’t made for the limelight. He had to deal with anxiety and all the following problems with too much alcohol and so on. 

There had also been times, when he just disappeared for several days or even weeks during recording sessions, leaving the band a note „I‘m gone.“ (or something alike). The band was used to him. They all stuck together, but had their regular fights about songs ect. After Freddie was gone and Brian, Roger and John had released their last album, John decided to leave Queen behind for good. And I don’t see any chance, that he will ever step on a stage again. It’s not his world. It never really was.

But without John there would be no „Another One Bites The Dust“, „I Want To Break Free“, „Friends Will be Friends“ or „Spread Your Wings“. That’s why he’s still earning money through QAL‘s touring. He did earn it. Oh, and if you take a look at the lyrics of these songs, then you can actually find a bit of his struggles in there. 

Haha, I glanced it and thought it was Adam too.  We just see Adam everywhere lol.

Well…Adam posted on his IG that all he got from the hurricane was one lousy branch….
Even though meant as a joke. I say thank gosh! And lucky him! 
I kept checking to see what harm was coming to his area… so finally know…..phew….they dodges a bullet!
