My moms Cousin lives in britisch Colombia. He and His wife don't seem to be in immediate danger but His step doughter is in Kewlona and the Highways are closed so she can't come Out. I'm hoping for the best. 🙏 Best thoughts for your cousin's stepdaughter. A lady on another board and her husband live in what might be the same town...it sounds familiar. They weren't too worried because there was a lake between their community and the fire, but now it looks like the fire has jumped the lake. Last I read they were packing a bag just in case, but weren't planning on leaving until they had to. Hope everybody is ok. Glad to hear that Adam and Oliver fared well. ETA: Marionm, just heard from the lady on the other board...she said all the highways are open. Not sure why she wouldn't be able to get out.

OT: Demi is leaving Scooter Braun's management. Demi Lovato Breaks With Manager Scooter BraunDemi Lovato is no longer working with longtime manager Scooter Braun, Rolling Stone can confirm. The news was first reported by Billboard. Lovato left Braun’s SB Projects about a month ago and she’s yet to partner with new management. Reps for Lovato and Braun did not immediately reply to a request for comment. Lovato’s split from Braun comes as she gears up for the release of a new album, Revamped, which will find her reimagining her old pop hits as rock songs. The LP arrives Sept. 15, and Lovato has already shared new renditions of “Confident,” “Sorry Not Sorry” (featuring Slash), “Cool for the Summer,” and “Heart Attack.” www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/news/demi-lovato-breaks-with-manager-scooter-braun/ar-AA1fA5iO

I stand corrected on John D. being in contact with B and R from time to time. I could have sworn that B did occasionally, but I guess no. I guess if I had six kids at home I'd want to be around a lot as they grew up. John contributed so much to Queen. He deserves all the residuals and royalties he gets.
So, all Adam got from the hurricane was one lousy branch. LOL. Lucky him. Hope he doesn't have to drive anywhere for a while.

I live in BC but on a small island a short day's drive from Kelowna ..... it was very scary and at one point there were orders for pretty much the whole city to evacuate ... I saw video's of folks taking to boats on the lake for safety then the fire actually jumped the lake because of the fierce winds. We had heat records breaking all over the province...it has been a nasty summer for many. We are cooler now...for the last few days ... and I think the heat has broken hopefully. My island is very small and dependent on ferry services so it is really scary if we had such a fire as we cannot just 'drive' away and if there was fire at the ferry terminal, we would be trapped. We have done a lot of talking lately as this sort of weather is new for around here. We are supposed to be "temperate rainforest" but.....not lately..

Yes, the weather and fires in BC are scary. Much of BC is experiencing drought conditions so obviously not good for forests! There was a smoky haze over my city on the weekend and we're not that close to any fires. Mind you, the smoke may have also come from Washington state. We don't get as much news about their fire situation.
Glad that Adam didn't suffer much damage. It still must have been pretty windy to bring down a branch!
