Makes sense..... I believe that Adam has been the most successful Idol artist in Japan -- he had a #1 Radio song and the #2 song on the Japan Hot 100 (FYE single). With Trespassing and all the collabs this time, I hope he's going to get even bigger in Japan and other Asian countries. If I have to guess, I think he will go and start his Asian/Australian promo tour when he's promoting his album. Adam told reporters he is going to Asia and Australia and NZ in his LA Promo interviews. No specific mention of Japan but it is the #2 market in the world -- roughly equal to UK+Germany+Austria+France. Since we know that Adam sold approximately 50% of his FYE albums outside of US (RCA press release last week said worldwide sales almost 2 million, US should be around 900K -- they use wholesale shipments NOT retail sales.) Japan may be even more import to Adam's marketing. The description of Trespassing and Cuckoo sound like these singles many be more suited to Japan than BTIKM. So, my guess is that they will wait until the second single for him to go to Japan. Most interesting to me is that they continue to pretty much ignore France -- the only top 5 market that Adam has not really spent much time in (Top 5 are US, Japan, UK, Germany and France). Adam seems like he should do well in France but that requires a localized promo effort. I would not be surprised to see them launch a concerted effort in France later in the year after they have properly established a foundation for Adam in the UK. And the UK promo is being done right this time. |

I'm proud of myself. With all the news and berting yesterday I still managed to get in my voting & requesting!
I'm still hoping for a few gigs with Queen. Adam's tweet didn't deny it - just didn't confirm. My guess is that nothing is finalized or that he feels any announcement should come from Brian. I would be in heaven if he did this & here is my #1 Queen song I want to hear him sing:

Vevo views for BTIKM video up to 414,342 views. Do they update this number daily or more often? Curious. .... they refresh the counts every 4-6 hours. The count an hour ago (9AM CT) was 470,296 and will get stuck with the same count until they refresh the counter between 1- 3 PM CT. |

Right now the count I see is 518,114 for the number of views. |

ETA: On the VEVO View Count
VEVO and YT counter is not the actual number of views. The counter methodology (like the iTunes chart ranking) is a secret because they believe people will try to game the system if they disclose it.
What is known:
The counter functions in "real time" up to 302 views and is then frozen and updated periodically. The view count is not actual number of view.
From the 302 point forward YT/VEVO use a formula and periodically update the count. Many people have experimented with the counter to try to breakdown what they do.
1. Refreshing the page won't work;does not equal a view.
2. A view has a minimum requirement that you watch 50% of the video.
3. Only a limited replays of a video count. Multiple replays in a row do not count -- it seems to take a few hours between plays to count.
But multiple views by one user on the same device from the same IP address do count. (Bieber's counts prove this.)
4. It does not matter if you are logged in or logged out -- they are using other User ID methods -- prob IP address and cookies.
5. If you play a video too many times, they will stop counting your views at all.
Popularity is not just having the most views: They include other measures of popularity than views in calculating popular videos -- lots of referring sites, favorite counts, broad reach across demographics, mobile views, etc.

Well affter gettng up and listening to the new vid at 1 am my time... I posted... I wonder if I could get to sleep again with my mind whirling of all variations of Adam... and that was the case. I wonder if I had 4 hrs of sleep. So off to the real world and back to stan in the afternoon and evening.... and everyone was so full of concepts and word awesomeness I just viewed the thread in amazement and tiredness. I slept 10 hours last night . but I am ready to go again!! |
