I am not going to be able to watch Adam live on Thursday My son has an orchestra concert at 7:30pm (he has to be there by 7pm) and Idol is on from 7-8pm here in Chicago.... I have the DVR set but am sad I won't be able to flail with everyone.
The kid has 3 concerts per year (school orchestra) and this is the only one I ever make it to because the others are on Mondays when I have choir practice (and somehow the orchestra concerts are always the week before we have a choral concert and I CANNOT miss rehearsal!)

PJD, as a violinist, school music teacher, and the daughter of very supportive parents, I thank you for going to your son's orchestra concert. We will flail without you, but you'll still get to read all about it here and watch it.
I really didn't even consider missing it (well... maybe for about 1/2 a second!). I feel bad that I only get to 1 per year. My father goes to the other 2, so he does have family there. Sadly, I really dislike listening to these concerts - there are always kids that are off the beat, wrong notes, squeeks and such. I LOVE that these kids are learning and there isn't any way to get better other than to keep playing. I have HUGE respect for the music teachers - they are far better people than I!! No way I would ever have the patience they do
There is one plus side to having to watch Idol on DVR - I get to fastforward through all the Not-Adam parts! Silver-lining :D
