I wondered about that...how much, if any is planned announcements and how much is the media just jumping on the story? Like the showbiz tonight piece....do Adams people work to get that on there or just organically? |

Welcome Reihmer and Adamaniacdvr!
I thought Simon Cowell and Simon Fuller had differences. I was thinking that Adam wouldn't do a guest performance on USA X-Factor out of loyalty to Fuller and 19M. Am I missing something?

I would love it if he'd wear that brown suit with the interesting cut he wore in Europe. I think it would be perfect for acoustic aftermath, and he hasn't worn it on American tv. I think it captures his new/old(TOMT) vibe. Nobody but us stans would think it was a rerun.

As far as I can tell this press is based on two things ----
Wave #1 - Adam's Tweet (onzzline and gossip press, quasi press buzz)
Wave #2 - Press release (most of the "real media" picked up after this)
The timing was carefully planned by Adam's people at 19 and RCA --- although I think that Adam was probably the one who came up with the Trevor Project single based on RCA Ed's comment about the Aftermath single a couple months ago -- RCA Ed commented he vaguely recalled hearing about it in a meeting. RCA's focus has been on the DVD release --- and the international release + release to US Retail says that they expect this DVD to sell.
This is very similar to how they promoted FYE's release -- a big showcase performance, very little press access before it -- build anticipation.
Finally -- this performance has three PR teams pushing it -- 19, Sony/RCA, Idol/Fox. + bonus PR because of Trevor Project supporters.
ETA: This is IMHO a PR work of art. 19/Sony/Fox is usually not this good. I honestly think that Adam is the one making the difference. He has been willing to make sure that there are interim projects and keep recreating things. No one from Idol has ever done this before.

One more question...I saw somewhere that RCA Ed said the DVD pre sale was around 6,500....I assume this is just AO. Any pre sale numbers from other sites?
