I just saw the last night’s set list (end of yesterday’s thread) and I’m absolutely amazed - Adam did WWTLF and TSMGO one after another, no break! It’s inhuman imo. Re attendance - Brian mentioned in one of his posts leading to this event that they’d expected about 300k to be there… the fireworks at the end provided such a great ending to the show and the whole event! I didn't see Brian's guitar solo listed on the setlist. Just asking because I thought it was usually after WWTLF and if it was that is a nice little break for Adam between those two songs.

Yeah, reviewer acts like Freddie wrote everything. LOL Nevermind that Fat Bottom Girls was written by Brian wasn't it. LOL

I can't quite see Brian's guitar solo fitting in this particular event. I'm betting they skipped it.

I think the choice to omit a few key songs was very appropriate for this crowd and for this type of venue. You have to know your audience and the circumstances. Adam's ability to sing these big songs back to back amongst all the others is almost inhuman, uncanny and simply beyond belief. Freddie couldn't have done it at the same level, and Brian and Roger have said as much. He is just singing balls-out with every bone and muscle in his body. I never cease to be amazed.

Thank you…I thought it was just me. It tiptoes along the edge of damning with faint praise and/or only praising Adam as an activist. To quote Roger Taylor: “Look, Fred’s dead and he’s not going to BE there.” I hope the band got paid a fortune for this performance because it looked really uncomfortable.

My second MSG show I spent with my binoculars glued to Adam almost all the time,( my seat was at level 1, row 8 and it was aligned with the first row of the floor seats). His singing is an enormous, all consuming effort, well hidden by his ability to look effortless. It’s not. He left all on that stage. As a side note :I could see his face when he faced away from the audience - he would take a sip of his drink, talk to the sound tech over his stage mic and the rest of the time he was trying to crack Roger up - made funny faces at him, gestured and mouthed stuff, obviously lots of “inside” stuff going on there. No wonder Roger called touring with Adam “hilarious “.

Nica575, your comment re Adam reminds me of a comment on a QAL FB post the other day (I think it was about appearance yesterday). Somebody commented that they wouldn't pay any $$ to see Queen because it was just a tribute band at this point, and somebody else answered that Adam moves so much on stage to disguise the fact that his voice doesn't have any power behind it and he can't hit the notes (something to that effect). I actually laughed out loud at that...usually the comments annoy me, but that one made me laugh.
Noreaster, can you explain why you think the appearance yesterday was "uncomfortable"? I wasn't sure what you meant by that.

That was a weird review. I hope we will see others. But this was Texas (not all Texans tho) so I guess it was a big deal and needed to be pointed out that Adam is gay. And TSMGO and WWTLF are Broadway? Why, because Adam's vocals were stunning? But the review seemed to be more about Freddie and Queen back in the day than what they are doing now as QAL. Not impressed!

Anybody who says that Adam's voice doesn't have power or that he can't hit the notes is just being snarky. It's simply not true. Adam has gotten more praise from vocal pros that we can count. Brian and Roger have said that Adam does things with his voice that Freddie could never. Freddie's legacy is so strong and his loyal fans are so committed, and that's a beautiful thing. Adam's fans feel the same way about Adam. Always will.
