I've always loved Randy's voice also HSM. Did he really do/say anything that ugly to Adam? I don't remember anything like that. Commenting on the nail polish? The dude probably never had seen a guy with nail polish before. I remember him just being uncomfortable with the whole thing. He's traditional country with a capital T and Adam's rendition of ROF must have scared the crap our of him. Kind of sad that this is how he wound up after such a hit filled career.

There have been rumors in the Country Music world for years.... Actually, I feel kind of sorry for him. If he is gay, I don't imagine he has had a very happy life. If not, still didn't look to happy to me. Yeah, if Randy is gay, I can't imagine that his life has been easy at all. Can't even imagine having to live in the closet and have your whole public life be a complete lie, because the music world you're a part of would never accept you as your true self. Ugh, talk about a tragedy. :( That Ring of Fire performance on AI was epic, and it made a lot of people sit up and take notice. On the one side, many of us became stans that night. On the other side, some people just Did. Not. Get. It. And Randy and his wife showed us what that looked like, LOL. |

Adam's performance, the way he presents himself are clearly outside Randy's frame of reference, but he tried at least to humorously go with it.
At the performance, when Kara said, "all a little strange", he was amused and along for that comment, but when Simon later talked about throwing TVs out the window and it being horrific you can clearly see Randy shaking his head.
I think he recognized Adam's talent and realized that he was using it for something very different than what fits his personal taste, but he did not go along with what Simon said.
Simon was the true hater of that performance, not Randy. Now his wife, that is a different story. (Or ex, as I am reading here).
I have no ill-wishes towards Randy. It is kind of funny to know that probably Adam and Randy are right now in idfferent parts of the world both puking and feeling pretty much the same, even though for very different reasons.
Oh well, Randy will have to live though his press-drama-storm just like Adam did and they both will survive.
Does Randy have any music out? If yes, I assure you, there is no such things as bad news, his music will climb in the charts.
ETA: of course, while I wrote this, 3 others found the video too..... btw...feel so sorry for Adam, he works like crazy and paying for it with such a bug is mean. Oviously don't care about Randy and he brought it on himself, so whatever....hope Adam gets over his bug as quickly as his band did and hopefully flies back to NY right away. Sorry Sauli, but you don't want to catch that bug either and Adam should not start to infect a whole plane of people either. With his illness being that public, it would make the news, if he infected a plane full of people. Hope he just enjoys Scandinavia a day longer, once he can actually enjoy it again.

Randy do anything ugly? No. Absolutely not. He was just the picture of befuddlement. His wife was a different story.... ETA: Yeah, I feel sorry for him too. So many years of work. So little happiness apparently resulting from it. ETA2: Just want to add that I'm so relieved that Adam has found *his* happiness. His openess has led him to Sauli and the ability to be honest about his life. And while no one knows what the future years may bring, Adam observed effort to balance his work life and personal life should help him maintain the contentness he's finally found. #crossesfingers |
