During the SF #2 concert on the 9th, I noticed something that I had not registered while watching all the previous shows' videos. In TSMGO when the "My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies" bridge starts, Spike is now playing a very delightful, ringing rolling sequence of notes (an arpeggio) which was extremely obvious live, but is somewhat lost when recorded. You can hear it in every concert of the current tour, for example San Francisco #2: youtu.be/mg8_9bDIMNs?t=171or Chicago: youtu.be/H5h-_-ercnk?t=171Here is the first show of the 2019 leg in Vancouver (which I went to): youtu.be/d441l1uGqJY?t=157The Live Around The World recording from 2018, while having a better quality sound, does not seem to feature that rolling sequence, although it feels like it is almost there in the beginning, but then the guitar takes over: youtu.be/nSkHHoYxok0?t=171' (I also checked the clearer sound on Spotify) Finally I listened to the original music video and it is not there either... youtu.be/t99KH0TR-J4?t=174So I guess this is a new addition to the performance. My ears perked up when I heard it, because it was so unexpected - I thought I knew every detail of that song. And of course the addition of the actual butterflies on the screen this time around was a great idea too! This is something I forgot to mention in my original report, it was a pleasant surprise to me and I wanted to share. |

Thanks for sharing, but I'm afraid these nuances are lost on me. My ears are more attuned to Adam's vocals, though not necessarily the lyric accuracy 😉. I do remember though that Spike plays a bit in the beginning of a song that sounded different, but I'm not really hearing that differences in the middle of the song with everything else going on.. |

Hope Adam got to go home and have a nice reunion with Pharoah. I am thinking they will go to their houses in LA. But you never know, maybe they stay together at a hotel just for the comraderie of everyone being together. I am wondering how old Pharoah is. I know he was not a puppy when adopted.

Pharaoh was said to be 3,5 years old, when Adam adopted him in January 2017. He should be 10 years old by now. I saw that Oliver’s friend Stephen had stayed at Adam’s house and looked after Pharaoh during the past days. Stephen’s last story is from his own apartment though, so someone must have come home. Adam and Oliver? Some of Adam’s relatives, who came to the city to attend the concert(s)? |
