Don't care for Roscoe's reactions. I watched the first one he did and he seemed clueless about anything. I think he is just one of those guys that knows if he does Adam he'll get clicks. I watched this one simply because I love Adam's version of this song. Although this was during the time everyone was noticing his weight, I thought he looked great. I actually like his fuller face, a very handsome man. I also watched it because there was another person reacting. Have to say, not impressed. I tend to watch actual "reviews" (not reactions) by vocal coaches or professionals that have some musical knowledge.

Yeah, I don't like that guy either, Quackn...agree about the clueless and using Adam videos for clicks.

Agree. Adam looked fantastic at all the Oscar events and performance that year. Very stylish and classy. He (Javi too) looked so handsome and well dressed sitting in the audience as well. Only one reviewer was disappointed in his look because it was not garish or OTT. Not sure what was expected cause Adam always presents himself with sophistication and class at these events. According to fans and most reviewers, he looked stunning and the attention followed him anyway. All without attention seeking gimmicks or looking as if he is hanging out in a bar/club in WEHO. HA. It seems the best way to winning an Oscar or for an opportunity with a song is thru the Grammy's. Billie Eilish won her second Oscar last night. She beat out Beyonce for the Oscar with her first win. Billie, H.E.R, Gaga, Eminem, Adele and Sam all won Grammy's first then Oscar winning songs. Wonder when Harry Styles will be given an opportunity to add Oscar winner to his resume. Interesting tho that other than Eminem (for his movie), it seems rappers, country and dance/disco songs need not apply.

Billie Eilish has a nice singing voice in there somewhere. She lets it out now and then with a note or two in her songs. LOL I like her well enough, but I get a bit impatient waiting for her songs to get somewhere. But she has millions of fans, so I guess it's just me. She has lovely eyes.
lurleene, you're right that a Grammy-winner has a better path to an Oscar. Happens quite a bit. Adam would be perfect for a James Bond movie theme. PERFECT! I wonder if he'll ever be tapped on the shoulder to do it.

I don't get the Billie love either lol...to me she sounds like she just mumbles through the song...can't understand a word of what she's singing.

But TBH and a little mean, I was thrilled that she beat out Beyonce for her first Oscar. It is hard for me to root for anyone with a sh** load of awards and constant nominations but they always (Jay-Z) feel entitled when they fail to win every single time. Feel the same way about Carrie Underwood. She has so many Grammy's (8) and even more country awards but they go berserk cause she has not won Entertainer of the Year at the CMA's. Of course, it does not help that Taylor is one of the few women, when she was in country to win (also Shania Twain) but the meltdown when a new country lady dared to win it over her recently was epic. I remember the time Adam and Leona were nominated for a country award for their performance of Girl Crush. It was nice that their performance was recognized but no one expected they would win out in a fan voted country award show over the established country artists. But when Carrie won, I thought thanking the voters for recognizing country artists who put in the work (Adam/Leona were the only non-country artists nominated) was off-putting and showed a lack of grace, imo.

LOL I was glad when Billie beat out Bey, too. Felt a bit of guilty snark, but it went away real quick. There are SO many worthy artists out there slugging it out every day who have just as much talent as the A-listers but will never win any kind of award. That's the reality of it. We love and support who we choose, regardless.

It was not good when he performed at the Grammy's. They made excuses for his poor performance both times but rewarded him with several Grammy wins. Then he headlined Coachella last year and the reviews were terrible. But they keep saying he is a genius so there is that. HA. Yet the few times that Adam gets a chance, he brings the house down. Believe the Kennedy Center. Iheart and the EMA's with QAL. CMT with Leona and Girl Crush. Any QAL concert. Even at Cannes where he outperformed Hasley tho she was the headliner. But you put up a mediocre singer who dances more than they sing (mainly Pop women) with a bunch of dancers and it is all good, lol.

It’s how much money is spent on the “push advertising” before the awards voting. Barbie did great box office world wide, so there was marketing money to be had to get the word out about Billie this year. She’s also gets a lot of attention for her “endearing” social awkwardness. I don’t get it either, but sh captures the non-Taylor Swift young composer with meaningful lyrics crowd, and the brother sister team gets press. I didn’t even get her lyrics until Adam sang “ Getting Older”. Her voice and diction require too much “ work” for me to enjoy. Her fans are a great demographic for any label.
I think playing an instrument other than one’s voice garners a lot of appreciation and respect—more than it deserves sometimes. If Adam could play the piano or guitar somehow that would provide more credibility as a singer-songwriter in many award voters’ minds. Some think of a voice as “just a gift” not a craft. It’s as if Adam was born singing the way he does, and somehow mastering his vocal instrument doesn’t carry the same weight—why? I’m sure I don’t know. Adam is also a gifted, charismatic live entertainer—and fewer people get to experience “live” Adam, to feel the way his voice resonates within each audience member. Recordings don’t do it justice.
[me, stepping down from soapbox.].
