What was I Made For is such a hauntingly beautiful, heartfelt, emotional song!!! It perfectly sums up what the entire Barbie movie is all about. And I think there are many people who can relate to the lyrics.
In a video interview, Billie talks about all the different ways she could have sung this song, from belting to pure head voice. But that it took a lot of experimenting to find just the right technique to bring forth the emotion she wanted the song to invoke. And it is not easy to sing the song this way.
