I also wanted to say really quickly that I wonder why ANYONE thinks that Adam wiill have an easier time with a different single? So far it seems like a lot of people whine and say that a different single like Cuckoo or Trespassing would be totally different and smash right away, etc etc, BUT....1) We haven;t even heard these songs yet so how do we even know if we would actually even like them 2.) Adam has never had an easy time on radio, and until he has at least one big mega smash I can't see him having an easier time. I think we need to adjust our expectations and realize that even if he did drop an amazing utempo tomorrow, it may still be a slow grower. He may ALWAYS be one. Who knows. I agree with what you have said here Chunkey, and I also wonder about payola or whatever it is called these days. Clearly record companies cut loose with the big bucks for some singles and not for others. I don't know how these decisions get made but there's no way I believe PDs just think we all want to hear Ri's "We Found Love" literally twice every frickin' hour. If RCA doesn't cut loose with the do-re-mi, why WOULD it be any different for another single. Food for thought. Rihanna, Madonna and Gaga are with Interscope. That is a record label who can spend money because they make money. Payola is promised to stations in the way of radio shows, interviews, M & Gs and tickets to concerts, and other promo opportunities for the radio station. Gaga and Madonna's concerts will be worldwide sell-outs. Radio stations will be clamoring for tickets to give away from their stations. Riri has more #1s than any other female, she is writing her own ticket right now. Stations are dying to get her for their summer shows or JBBs next year. Like I said earlier, the rich get richer! If you want this kind of radio attention and immediate radio play, you have to have the hits to make the radio stations want you in the first place. It is a cycle. On another topic: Here is the thing about eye rollers- all pop stars have them. Most people on this board eye roll at Gaga. So what! She has sold 8 million copies of her latest album worldwide and is about to go out on a massive worldwide stadium/arena tour! Not trying to be mean here, but do you think she cares about the eye rolls? j/s

Lol, it wasn't untill 15 minutes into the video, that i realized that my cheeks were hurting. I just had this huge grin on my face the whole time watching this. *sighs* I just love Adam

Q3, My post is directed at you, and I would like you to help clear out the confusion here:
According to what I understood from your post, an upbeat Adam would be better embrazed by the pds and would have raced up the charts better; can you then please tell me why FYE ( the upbeat single from his first album) flopped on the radio?.
Secondly, his other upbeat single IIHY took a while to chart on radio and eventually peaked at 16 on POP. The Pds ended up dropping it faster than they allowed it to climb their charts!.
His second single WWFM ( mid tempo) was the only one the pds held on to and agreed to play for a reasonable period compared to the uptempos.
Based then on these , what makes you think the PDs would have warmed up better to an upbeat Adam as the first single in this era???
And what makes other slow to mid tempo songs released by Kelly Clarkson, Adele, Bruno Mars etc superior to Adam's? and yet radio jumped on those and spun the hell out of it ( I know Adele took a while to take off thou).

Remember what Adam said about getting the collective eyeroll? This is still happening with him for a number of reasons. The main one is that he's gay, another important one is that the FYE era had a very flamboyant gay who pushed a lot of buttons with the AMA's, his GNT concerts, and his music in general with FYE and Fever in particular. People in my family give him the collective eyeroll all the time and will not listen to his music. I've gotten to where I just don't mention him at all even though they know I follow him intensely. They just don't want to hear about it and when they do it's eyeroll time again. I hate to say it, but I wish he had started the first era off like he is with this one. I think it would have gone over better and gained him more fans. As it is, he has a loyal fan base that stuck with him through everything in the first era, but I believe the fans he gained during FYE era were mostly overseas. I just don't see him selling much here in America and that may be why they are concentrating on the overseas market this time around. They know radio is still eyerolling him along with all the haters here in America and that it will take making him big overseas first to get him in the door over here. I do believe that Adam will make it big in other ways also, especially with Queen. I see that gig as being the way Adam gets his name out there around the world in a big way and hopefully here in America too. Sorry that I'm rambling but also want to say that I will be so pissed if radio plays the heck out of Kris's new music while shunning Adam. I may just burst a blood vessel over that one, if it happens. I am worried too that they are going to play the heck out of Kris's new single. I haven't heard the snippet or dance remix but people seem to be raving about it on MJs et al and Toby is a huge supporter of Kris so he'll probably play the heck out of it (unlike Adam's song). Not really related but I was on my local radio website, Alice, the one that play BTIKM first. Out of their listing of 10 most popular tracks in SF, 8 were all Lana Del Ray. No Adam to be found. I just don't get it. On a positive note, I have been trying to read the comments on the video, and I lots of "I love this song". So I am hoping that it just needs more exposure by radio play or the video. Why the heck isn't on the VH1 Top 20 Countdown?

music.uk.msn.com/video/?VideoID=28b7qct55OMG! The last 4 minutes of this interview gave me chills and tears!! You know what?! I suddenly don't really care as much about spins and singles! This album is Adam putting his heart and soul out there for the whole world to see. He loves it and has done his best. He has not lost his fanbase, all indications are thtatit has grown. He will be fine. We will be fine. This album is going to be 100% Adam opening up his hearts for his fans! If the rest of the world doesn't see it or want it, their loss! But, I really have the feeling Trespassing is going to blow up the Pop world! << Very verklempt, very happy tears! And, I agree totally. Seeing the last part of that interview, you could see, whatever it is he's been through, he needed to get it out in his music and this is his baby and it means ALOT to him. Very teary eyed, lol That interview was fabulous!! Eventually EVERYONE will know what we already know! He is way more than just a pretty face. Who cares if he's gay (wtf does that have to do w/ anything anyway?). Idol, is over, no, he didn't win. He is an AMAZING singer! He's human/normal just like the rest of us. He just happens to be doing for a living what he loves to do. Not by luck, but by hard work! I just can't say it enough, how much I love his realness/honesty. (that may change in the coming years where we don't know (almost) everything, but for right now, I will enjoy the ride w/ him. ) <3
