Nothing compares to Queen with Freddie Mercury, of course, but since their resurgence post-Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen has proved time again that their spark is far from over. In fact, with the addition of Adam Lambert, queen fans have been able to experience electrifying shows as close to Mercury’s reign as possible, with arrangements and performances that give way more than any posthumous recording ever could.

The 10 musicians who sound better live than on record Artists that bring even more magnetism to the stage.
Amen!!! And like Queen and Adam, those other acts do it and hold the audience without hiding behind a bunch of dancers that make everyone look and sound pretty much alike.

Amen, lurleene. The bouncing dancers thing does make a lot of acts look pretty much the same. Adam has worked with dancers of course but they are not an integral part of his act. A bit of dancing from time to time is fun, just for the variety. I like the ten acts mentioned in this article. I watched the videos and saw one or two I had never seen or heard of before. Live and learn!

Live and learn! I agree. Adam uses dancers sometimes (most needed in Vegas) but does not need them to put on a great show. And tho society likes to marginalize gay male artists into the pop/dance categories, Adam is so much more than that. Yes he loves pop and pop/dance and most of his music is pushed in that genre but his biggest US hit, WWFM, was pop/rock. And he is the frontman for Queen and has a lot of outstanding music on all of his albums that could have been pushed to other genres, if he/his team/label had wanted to do that. I would love to see more talented gay men take on other genres too. And tbh, most of the Grammy's won in dance music and EDM have gone to straight artists. Beyonce made a lot of noise of paying homage of black gay dance and ballroom music for her last album. But SHE won Grammy's for that form of dance music and not someone like Saucy Santana, Todrick Hall or Billy Porter. But I'm proud of the gay women who have been willing to go up against the mostly male dominated figures and genres and win. Brittany Howard solo and fronting Alabama Shakes, Melissa Etheridge and Brandi Carlile have all had many Grammy nominations and many Grammy wins in rock, alt, Country and Americana. No box for them. I wish the men would venture out more and try to make a mark and advance in other genres. They should be represented in Pop, rock, alt, country, Americana, R&B and everything else. HA. It would be hard but I think Adam has the background, vocals, charisma and respect that he could make a mark like Brittnay and Brandi in multiple genres IF he wanted.

I just kind of feel like we keep going over the same thing again and again, what category of music Adam should be in or be represented in...and I keep feeling like Adam's gonna do what Adam's gonna do. I don't think he's ever explained why he sings what he sings, has he? Or the the story changes with each album (pretty much par for the course for every singer). Pretty sure if somebody would actually ask a business-type question on the next IG live (instead of the incessant makeup questions), he wouldn't answer so we'll probably never know why he and his management do what they do.
Maybe somebody will be brave enough at one point to ask why he's not in Rock, instead of Pop...and maybe somebody will gently remind him that he's probably too old to be in Pop. Or maybe not. Better just stick with the makeup questions lol.
So far I've bought all of his music...we'll see what the next album is like. If it's EDM, I may skip that one...hate EDM music.
