He sure has a presence. Wow. Hope a few vids show up. fingers crossed some kind hearted person will post videos, maybe the whole show! I was going to try to watch it through my VPN. I am finding the sites are getting too sophisticated and they are picking up on the VPN and knowing I am not in the UK, Australia, etc. I was able to get quite a few shows previously, but doesn't seem so now.

agree girldrummer. And Adam is so handsome and he looks good.
There was a guy on YouTube analyzing and giving his take on why modern music is not as good as older music. He listed The Beatles and Queen as examples of well written songs and good music that stood the test of time and still relevant today. He said pop music today sounded so much alike and much of it is disposable (and I agree). He said that was because two men were responsible for writing or co-writing most of the #1 or chart topping hits in pop the past 20 years. Max Martin and Dr. Luke. Adam was listed as one of those artists who have done their music but I could not get upset because of all the hit makers who were also in the group, lol. They showed pictures and listed Taylor Swift, Adam, Robin Thick, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Bieber, Ariana, Timberlake, Britney Spears, Pink, Kesha, Maroon 5 and Jlo, etc. as having pop music written/co-written by those two men. And TBH, I have loved the non-pop music and emotional ballads that Adam co-wrote much more than all of the music the majors release for him by MM or Dr. Luke. Unfortunately for Adam, that was all that was released for him by RCA/Warner and they just did okay on the pop charts. But most of those other artists got #1s and they got to release 4 or more songs from all their albums and had many #1s from those men and or others. So they built up massive audiences and received maximum exposure and performances on award shows and most ended up playing arenas.
He also said it cost almost $3M to make a pop song a hit. But the majors will not take much of a risk with that much money by pushing some good artists who are different. They try to make some blend in but often it is easier to put attractive women up front in pop and push them. And even if their music is not great, the majors push to get that music played and repeated on all platforms everywhere until it becomes a hit (deserving or not) and everyone knows who they are. How depressing but we knew that game. HA.

Adam was in very good company with Max Martin and Dr. Luke. They worked with all the biggies. Too bad they didn't take him to the highest heights like they did with the others. I'll never figure it out.

Adam was in very good company with Max Martin and Dr. Luke. They worked with all the biggies. Too bad they didn't take him to the highest heights like they did with the others. I'll never figure it out. Probably a number of reasons. I'm sure his sexuality played some part (at that time). And his start took a hit with the AMA's and Elvis Duran saying he would not play FYE. Not a good start. But I think the biggest drawback was he was not female. And the women rule pop and his label did not get him any exposure anywhere else. Nor was he one of the teen/early 20 year old males that the tween and teen girls (and their parents) were going gaga over. He also wasn't a rap artists who could dominate with streaming. And he came from Idol. Idol was a blessing for Adam because it gave him a fighting chance (which he made good of). But he did not win and the contract for 2nd place was several hundreds of thousands of dollars but not a million. I saw once that Mariah Carey's label used over $3M to launch her career. There is a big difference between $3M and a few hundred thousands to make a career take-off. Even Frank Ocean once said in an interview that his career was going no place until Barry Weiss (former head of RCA) became the head of his label and put up millions to launch him. Money talks and can likely open up many pop radio and streaming playlist doors, especially at the beginning of a career. HA. And Sam Smith's label once bragged about how much effort and money they put into launching his career. And he came on the scene several years after Adam had been beat up and had taken so many of the arrows. But with talent and charisma, Adam is still standing even without many big hits.
