I totally agree. And, for some reason, maybe I am just protective, but I really get ticked off when people forget what he has done.

Every few years someone comes along trying to take credit for doing and accomplishing something that no other gay artists have done, lol. Adam never did that. He always acknowledged those who came before and opened doors. Several years ago, Troye gave an interview and said it was time for a gay artist, such as himself, to find success. I guess he had never heard of Sam, Adam and Frank who were current artists, who had done well. Then LNX comes along and says he has accomplished more and is better known than other gay artists. Also when Sam won the Oscar, he mistakenly said he was the first gay artist to accomplish that. And like Jojo, others set him straight. Even some publications are guilty with the comparisons. When Ada Vox competed on Idol, one said she was bolder and making more of a statement than Adam. She was not bolder than Adam she was a drag queen. She wore female clothing because she wanted a bigger drag career. There was no reason for Adam to compete on Idol wearing a dress because he was gay. He was not a drag queen nor did he aspire to be one. And why would wearing a dress be a standard for being a gay man? They are individuals with choices same as straight men. Besides, Adam wanted to advance his career with his talent like the other contestants. And he had more buzz and attention than anyone on Idol, gay or straight. HA. And when he became the first out artist to get a #1 on the BB200, it was others who praised that feat first. Adam was surprised but excited and honored and so were his fans. HA. The community has a long way to go and more progress to be made. But each contribution hopefully leads to more opportunities. No one person can claim all the credit.
