About shallow music pleasing the masses vs. songs that go a bit deeper… I think that both have a valid place in entertainment. I personally often crave lighthearted, heart pumping pop music over drama and depth, be it disco infused or electro or urban flavored. But I think there’s a time and mood for everything. It would drive me crazy to only listen to ballads and I sure love my beat heavy workout and dance tunes. And a lot of my friends at the gym classes feel the same. They are not teens lol. I get where Adam is coming from wanting to make music that he listens to when out and about and enjoying himself. My favorite Adam singles to date are Ghost Town and Superpower btw. The “kids” love Ghost Town and my DH’s favorite Adam song is The Original High. He was so disappointed that it wasn’t the go to single. Yep. Everyone likes something different or have their favorite works. I like rock and emotional ballads. Hate disco and don't exercise, lol. But I think the article was basically saying that the shallow music by the country artists they listed were reasons why they were not critically acclaimed. And tho successful, they are often dismissed for putting out works that lack depth. I think Adam has some great works with depth on all his albums but I have pretty much given up on them being heard by the masses. But I guess I will always remain hopeful and wondered how the others (the country non radio darlings with critical acclaim) got their music heard and recognized to get those big awards. And yep Adam should and will make the music that makes him happy. It is mostly his fans who will get to hear it anyway and I'm sure he knows that. Thankfully he has created a successful career for himself even if his music is not widely known or recognized. And he gets great recognition for being the Queen frontman and fantastic covers so his talent has not gone unnoticed. No one would likely consider Adam shallow or lacking substance.

Made a donation for Adam’s FSFoundation (within first 48 hrs) and got double entry points for the Stonewall trip. Fingers crossed 😝 About shallow music pleasing the masses vs. songs that go a bit deeper… I think that both have a valid place in entertainment. I doubt people dancing in the clubs are worried about deep lyrics lol...they just want that beat. Same with gyms...I went to Curves for a while, years ago, and I definitely didn't listen to song lyrics, but the music did help me get through my workout.

very nice. Adam was fantastic and looked wonderful in Cannes. Great memories. Hope to see more of those type of opportunities (Oscars, Jubilee, Princes Kate) for him. He is a star/rockstar. Ha.
