Aw, two of my favorite rock stars! Adam (my favorite) and Lenny (really like him too). And I think Adam brought his own shoes/boots as the Queen frontman and does a wonderful job. And Brian and Roger and the people filling the arenas and stadiums for 10+years agree. HA. 35 Jewish Rock StarsAdam LambertNobody will ever really fill the shoes of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, but Adam Lambert has done a commendable job since he started singing with the group in 2011. The American Idol runner-up was raised in a mixed-faith household and attended Hebrew school as a child before dropping out around age nine. “We did celebrate Chanukah as opposed to Christmas,” Lambert told the Jewish Journal. “So we stayed true to our roots that way. And we celebrated Passover occasionally. I mean, I hate to say it, but we were kind of Jewish by form. Lightly Jewish. Diet Jews. More of a heritage thing.” Lenny KravitzLenny Kravitz’s father Sy was of Russian Jewish ancestry, while his mother Roxie Roker was of African-American and Bahamian descent. As you’d expect, he was raised to celebrate his various cultural backgrounds. Kravitz is Christian, but his father instilled in him a respect for his Jewish heritage. “He wasn’t religious,” Kravitz told The New York Times in 2020. “As with many Jews in my family at the time, it was all about tradition and keeping that alive, especially after what people in the family had gone through in World War II. But I still got exposed to [the religion], from going to temple and spending the High Holidays with my family at their houses." ultimateclassicrock.com/jewish-rock-stars/

"Commendable job"...high praise indeed lol. Lol. Yep there could have been better praise for Adam but I'll always take the rock star cred and recognition for him with the men over putting him in a group with the divas who mostly rule pop and pop/dance. Selena, Camila, Madonna, Katy, Jlo, Taylor, Gaga, Ariana, Beyonce, Janet. They top the pop charts, now or at one time, but some of them lack any real vocal talent. But they dance and have dancers and put on big shows. But I doubt many of them could hold an audience with sheer vocal talent, charisma and stage presence. And most, after they enter their thirties, have to make room for the younger divas, at least on radio and the pop charts.

I'm a rock fan at heart and I'd love to see Adam do more rock-oriented sounds. Not holding my breath, though. I hope he keep himself flexible and open to other projects, too, like the animation voice things he's been doing (which he gets great praise for, BTW). And as you said, lurleene, even very successful singers always have the newer, younger versions nipping at their heels. Adam is a niche artist. A very successful one, with a loyal fanbase, but still a niche. I love how the UK and Australia, etc. have embraced him 100% and give him the much-deserved royal treatment. I would love to see him get to do another US solo tour, but he still has new music to put out. I hope it's strong and gets some attention. Adam once said, "There's room for everybody." True, but it depends on what level you're on.
