Yikes! Nicki Minaj moved her date to April 3rd! I know she sucked last night and that Stupid Hoe song and video was a bust, but she sold a ton of cds last time. :( Hey...Nicki Minaj may not be yours or my cuppa but what standard are we using when we call something a bust!! In 3 weeks her official Stupid Hoe vid has just shy of 30 million views...Adam should have such a bust. The grammy performance last night looks to have close to 200,000 views on amateur vids. I think back to when Madonna came out with her SEX book and film...seems to me if Madonna has a current protege it would be Nicki over Gaga for daring and rule-breaking. The problem I see for Gaga currently, and Nicki in the near future, is that if you keep going for novelty and shock value, you end up simply competing with yourself. This road looks a bit like an auction where two people keep on upping the bid on a prize, and periodically bid against themself... Madonna was smart and completely re-invented herself rather than keepin on to up her own ante. Just my opinion. Adam seems to be avoiding this trap....he is a smart man...good for him. Yeah, I know about the Stupid Hoe video. No one bought the song, though. Everyone is watching the video, but no one is liking the song from last night. That's the problem with these two appearances. The talent, singing and song didn't break through the craziness. I kinda of like the WTF moments, but some kind of talent needs to come through the CRAZY!  I still think Nicki will sell a ton of cds her first week. Madonna? She needs to work on this era and figure out a way to reinvent herself at this age. I've not been impressed with a thing she has done since ROL. She probably doesn't even care. She wants to just throw something out there so she can make money off of touring. Madonna's advice to her fans for her exuberant ticket prices in a struggling economy: "Start saving your pennies now. People spend $300 on crazy things all the time, things like handbags. So work all year, scrape the money together, and come to my show. I'm worth it." : |

So since I don't see the M&G for B104 in the upcoming events I'm HOPING it's on Friday!?!?!?! Well wth. I thought they weren't giving away tix until Tuesday for his M&G at B104....Just read a girl won this morning.....Funny had the radio on all morning and I heard them say nothing about giving tix away today :( booo. Wish I knew it he was going to be at the studio or not, I'd soo go stand out in the cold for him lol! I'm soo damn close. |

Adele sounds like a black woman on the radio. She appeals to EVERYONE, except young white males. When you cross over to every genre and age group and appeal to everyone from ages 8 to 80, you have a runaway train situation. People are buying 21 that haven't bought new music in twenty years. Yes but if her music hadn't of smashed it wouldn't normall be played on all formats. Her last song Chasing Pavements didn't get that did it? And as far as I recognize she still sounded the same back then? I just think there is some heavy contradiction going on by saying that RITD wasn't like anything else on the radio and it smashed and even tho BTIKM is in the same boat--not like anything else on radio--it will be a tough go. What? It all comes down to production. Adele had the co-writers and production team for this album that turned her way with words into something more. The production elevated her songwriting and her voice to a whole other level. There is a reason why producers are the hit makers of today. BTIKM is not even close to RITD. I love Adam and his voice, but RITD struck a chord with MILLIONS and MILLIONS of people around the world. That song was lightening in a bottle!  |
