I have ABSOLUTELY no doubt that Trespassing and Cuckoo will be singles. Maybe not the 2nd one, but 3rd and 4th, for sure! As a matter of fact, I have seen a few interviews where the interviewer actually has called Trespassing a single.  ETA: And "Yes" Kelly's Mr Know It All was a last minute addition to her album. Before that, Stronger was supposed to be the first single. Man, her fans were pissed at MKIA being chosen over Stronger! |

I don't think there is anything wrong with speculation. Fact is, it looks like the album is going to be delayed. And kind of late in the game. So there will be speculation about what is going on. At this point, I am just trusting that the label has done enough research and they are making decisions in the best interest of Adam and the album.
Can't we discuss what's happening without it being called angsting? This is so frustrating to me. I'm not worried or concerned. But I do like to hear other people's speculation and opinions.
eta---In terms of RCA's single strategy, that appears to be completely up-in-the-air right now. Which is completely fine.

It is so frustrating for me to see BTIKM at 996 on iTunes and about to drop out of the top 1000 again. Come on little song, you can do it!

Looks like it needs to be here too! Don't be surprised if it is completely off the Top 1000 songs within a few hours. It is new music Tuesday. Between the new songs today, and the Grammy bumps, it will be lucky to hang on. Its AI (audience impressions)has not reached a number where sales will kick in. Gotta get to that magic 10 million and that will happen when his CHR position rises. His spin increases are great!! Nothing to worry about. I was just looking at the Top 40 HAC chart and Adam seems to FINALLY be moving faster than the songs around him! I can see a #27 by the end of the week. And, if you allow me to express my "crazy" Top 20 by the end of the month! |

Thanks! I've been looking forward to these! (I really liked hearing/seeing Adam talk about "Broken English," and I loved his point that it's not always about the words but about something else). Bryan Cooke is pretty endearing and I don't think he's ever gonna give up that schtick about Adam having rejected him! I'm looking forward to the Larry Flick interview - his last interview with Adam was really interesting, I thought - different. |

If she had a #1 song on the radio in October when they dropped the album, she probably would have sold more than 538K albums (US) by now. Setting that aside, BTIKM is not getting the airplay or sales that MKIA had at this point in its promo life. MKIA was an odd single choice when they had Stronger. I think that BTIKM is also proven to be an ineffective choice. THANKFULLY, RCA has time to get BTIKM or some other track on the radio with meaningful airplay before they release the album. Pop airplay is one way to build awareness of new music and sell tracks and albums -- it is not the only way. We know that TV can also promote music effectively -- Idol, Glee, X-Factor etc. But Adam is not on TV, so radio is IMO essential for this album's promotion in North America, UK, Germany and Japan. No angst from me about this -- looks like we have 6 or 7 more weeks before the album.
