While I’m at it…. An example of this conditioning is the word ‘c…Ty’ I see intelligent, open-minded fans who are offended by this but who are persuading themselves that the word really is ok because it is used slightly differently in the gay lexicon.
Well no…Adam knows perfectly well that in the wider world this word debases woman and is offensive to many. In creating this song, he could easily have used another word there to express the same meaning. If you don’t think he intended to use this kind of word, then perhaps consider that his most authentic works are entitled Lube, WtDream and C..ty. He knew exactly what he was doing. If he thought that word simply meant confident and strutting, then it wouldn’t have fitted the vibe.

It's Pride month, and Adam and Oliver happen to be gay. So of course, lots of celebration of gay happening. Plus the celebration of Adam's new EP. I love that Adam and Oliver found each other...don't really care how Oliver wants to present himself.
I follow Adam. I figure if I get bored with him, I won't follow him anymore and/or I'll follow somebody else.
ETA: I don't like that word, and I won't be buying the EP. Easy peasy.

I'm as liberal as they come, and I think gay people should be allowed to act as they please as long as it doesn't hurt anybody else. If it hurts our own sensibilities, we can look elsewhere. BTW, straight guys can be as obnoxiously sexual as all get out, and often in more destructive ways.
This look into the gay world, which many of us have never seen, is a bit much. We can choose to skip the videos, etc.
Oliver is a smart young man, well-educated and savvy and successful in his own right. He wouldn't be spitting out lines like this at other types of parties. I think he finds this new life with Adam to be very liberating and he's loving it.
I keep saying that I'm ready to see what Adam does next, music-wise. This Afters EP is a kind of anomaly that fit into the Pride celebrations very well. But most of us are ready for music that speaks to all of us and shows off Adam's astounding voice and personality, which is the reason we love him in the first place.

I think Adam was working on this album for a couple of years at least. I remember him explaining the release of High Drama as a gift to his fans (a quick 2-3 months project) WHILE he was taking time creating his next “real” album. I’m happy he can do this, be financially secure and thus free to follow his heart, even if thematically (to borrow Oli’s choice of words) it “smells” of a case of arrested development to me . At this point I have no expectations of anything you mentioned in your post. Hope QAL is not done yet, and I have an enormous amount of live performances saved! The very important plus though - EDM is huge with young people, perhaps some of the AFTERS songs will be popular. …I’m still here… still entertained

Wow. Seems a little harsh to me. Adam is a gay man. He is also a multi talented performer. He used an offensive word as a title to a song. A song. He did not call anyone that word. Some of his closest friends are women. To imply that because he used that word as the title of a song to…what? Debase women? Because he’s lost all sense of decency? That seems a stretch to me. I love Adam, his talent and who is as a person. He’s an activist and a humanitarian and a kind human being. If I don’t like a particular song, album or performance I move on. I don’t judge him for it. And I don’t judge him for how he behaves with his friends.
