Isn't that pretty much what was happening in the 60's (before my time lol)? It's not a new concept. I'm sure there were a lot of people in that time period that were hoping it would pass and pass quickly. With all of the shit being rained down on the community, I'm not surprised there's a sense of rebellion and defiance in these gatherings.
Oh.. good point!! The 60's were before my time too, but the musical "Hair" comes to mind right now. LOL I have a funny story about Hair. We were living in Ottawa. My mother heard that Hair was coming to the newly opened Ottawa Arts Centre. She didn't know much about the show and decided it would be a treat to take me (12 or 13 years old) and her mother who was visiting. None of us were expecting the nude scene!! I had probably never seen a naked man -- though I seem to remember there was very low lighting and it was hard to see anything. Not sure what my grandmother thought as I think we were all too polite to mention it when the show ended. |
