Somebody said earlier that maybe if we watched BTIKM more on VH1 so the view count goes up it would make the top 20. Definitely no because that 'Safetysuit' video has less than 5000 views and it made the top 20. Jim Shear said at the end of the countdown said that is we think our favorite has been unfairly treated we should talk to him on twitter. I would say that he is expecting a Glambert onslaught. In the past they have always had a countdown contenders mention on the countdown. Did I miss it? Well, geez, if he gave an INVITATION for peeps to talk to him on Twitter, twat away!! ;D |

Not to be unduly cynical here, but I would bet my house that record labels and radio/television stations have found multiple ways around that payola restriction.
Fans may have some small influence, but mostly I suspect what gets played has to do with where the money gets handed out, which is why so many PDs and DJs are so snotty. They know they don't really have the power they like to pretend they have.
/shrugs.
ETA: Did some research, and as recently as 2007 there were investigations and fines levied against third-party payola deals, where "independent record promoters" paid the radio stations, and in turn were suspected to be paid by the record labels.
But Adam does seem confident and upbeat, so if he's happy, I'm happy.

I do not know what it is about. I voted for 2 x 20 and I think Adam was the first. When I voted for the third time, Adam was not there anymore at all. Confused ??? The order of the pics, during the voting process, has nothing to do with the video placement on the countdown. I'm so sorry ... when I pressed the button to "Watch The Top 20", I thought that I got the right result. |

Out of pure numbers curiosity - can someone please pull up either the Mediabase or BB rankings of #18-#20. I'm not trying to be "angsty". I'd like to have a numerical comparison basis for the bottom of the VH1 chart. I gotta deal with a RL issue or I'd do it myself. Please and THANK YOU!  |
