\ Hmmm. Maybe they r we-working it because I notice he says it's a "co write" too so maybe he changed some lyrics and stuff. I just hope it's good, good enough to be a hit so he can release Cuckoo and stuff next. I am trying to be zen. Just tell myself sometimes singles don't click...my happy place is knowing that at least they r re strategizing and delaying the album so things can be sorted out....and that they spent a shitload of money on this and if they let it fail it's on their backs. I don't remember Adam saying the Bruno song was a co-write? Ever. There is a Claude kelly song that is a co-write. I SWORE I heard him say that in one of the ELEVENTY BILLION interviews that came out recently...srsly. I swear. Of course I could be wrong but srsly I totally remember it...guh idk I am tired lol |

I almost wonder if there was a deal with Claude that he would get the first single. I have absolutely no idea what is going on. But, this had to be a pretty expensive album to make, lots of top names. And if RCA didn't want it to be successful, they wouldn't be delaying things to make changes. I think people in the industry love Adam, and he has a lot of support behind the project. I am still believeing that have given themselves more time, and they are going to figure out what works. Or how to make something work. Yes!  |

My 2 cents for what it's worth is how do we know radio would have jumped on ANY song Adam puts out? WE DON'T. It's real easy for them to say "Oh we love Adam but this song is just meh." but if he had put out an upbeat song who's to say they couldn't just as easily find way to say "Oh we love Adam but this song is too _____". See here's the thing there are a million ways they can undercut Adam without "appearing" to be against him. All they really have to do is just not push him the way they do their "darlings".
I'll say it again, maybe Adam has some standards on how far he will go when it comes to "back room" promo. This is not something that we will ever know anything about. But I can tell you this, when U2 was first breaking the states they were very particular in what they would or wouldn't do when it came to radio and it made it much harder for them to break on the mainstream commercial stations. If it had not been for College radio and live touring they might never have made it big here. We've seen the kind of dog and pony show bullshit that is out in the open but the back room politics is far worse.
I consider it a hugely positive sign that RCA does appear to still be firmly behind Adam after the shakeup within Sony because change of power within the label has killed many artists' careers. I am taking my cue from Adam who is STILL super excited in interviews and although disappointed about the delay was obviously hugely excited for the music he is still working on. If that is a front then Adam deserves an OSCAR and EMMY and a TONY for that performance. Go back and watch how stiff his body language often was in the post AMA press rounds (when he now admits he thought he'd blown it) to his demeanor all through this round of promo.
You know the only thing that scares me right now is that some bottom feeder like Perez might start reporting all this WANK that the fandom is generating about the single. Seems to me that would do more harm than good.

what about the logistics of changing the song in other countries,when BTIKM is just getting on their charts,i.e. Japan,Russia,etc. I'm sick over this , It just seems that RCA sabotaged BTIKM. When the cd came out ,it got nothing but praise and there was no effort to promote it by RCA. Poor Adam his hands seem to be tied. Why does RCA go the safe route,Adam's new offbeat stuff,would IMHO make people stand up and listen. This is so sick and so unlike Adam . He's an innovator not a copier of pop music. I am so sad right now. I'm really starting to think that RCA is too vanilla for Adam and is not giving him the ability to use his own music. It reminds me of the video he made talking about how much freedom he had when he worked for Scarlett and Lee Cherry.. remember the fucking fire coming out of his head idea??? Five year contract with RCA not feeling it!! RCA is not sabotaging Adam! Why would they want to do that? They don't want to make money off of an artist that sold at least 1.3 million cds and had a Grammy nomination? If RCA didn't care, they would have let this play out with a single that wasn't going to make it in a huge way and they would have released the album on March 20th. RCA is delaying the album because they are trying to release it with a better single on the charts to give it a better chance. I just think that they didn't do BTIKM justice.. I think the video is amazing and I remember when the song first came out there was a great deal of praise ,but no follow up by the label. I just hope they don't take away Adam's edge and make him try to fit into a square hole. I guess I'm just upset and venting. I have tried to be positive for weeks and now VH1 has dropped the song.. it was just getting on the Jump Start. Just Frustrated.. don't mind me.. I'll cool off and go back to RL. We fans have worked so hard with radio,etc.and know nothing.. so what to do now?? |
