NoAngel, when are you going to lose this NO prefix, it doesn't do you justice :D Beautiful essay, but it wasn't the only thing that got me thinking.
Last night I lurked a bit ( is that what you call it when someone reads the blog but doesn't actively participate in the discussion?) and I was shocked by some things of which I wasn't aware. - that BTIKM isn't 'ripping' the charts - that Adam's behaviour during the promos is optimistic and happy although he might not feel that way
I may have misunderstood it, idk. I was so happy yesterday, after watching that ridiculous interview with 'asslips' although that girl talked way more than she should have, but Adam was so cool about it all and hot even with the lips and the fake moustache. And then there was that great Swedish interview where he really clicked with the interviewer, so much so that he (again) revealed us what we already knew: that he's well-endowed in his boy parts department.
I mean, I know that he isn't such an open book he claims to be, and he shouldn't be, imo ( NoAngel's essay explains it perfectly) but somehow the implication that he isn't really as happy and nonchalant as he seems to be during this promo makes me sick to my stomach.
Although claiming to be impulsive, which he is regarding not-so-important stuff, I think Adam has gone through each and every possible scenario over and over again, and then some. In his head, with himself, and then with his friends, family and loved ones. The worst possible and the best possible and all versions in between have already been played in his head and he has found the way to deal with them before they even happen. That's why he's so at peace, that's why he seems so happy and optimistic and content. Because he is. Whatever comes out of all this, he's made an album that he's proud of and that's the most important thing.
I so hope BTIKM will do better at charts. If it doesn't, I won't be very unhappy and I really hope Adam won't as well. He's my glass of whiskey in the sea of beer, my Lamborghini in a row of Yugos, my orchid in a field of carnations. Those don't come in large numbers. And they don't come cheap.
I'm so sorry if I sound so incoherent, I was really upset and still am.
Happy birthday to birthday girls!!!
Thanks to all the Ninjas for all the precious info!

PS. Norwegian is very close to Swedish, so most (many?) of us Finns understand it. So sad that Norwegian paper would stab Adam in the back, he was giving them his time. Wasn't his grandfather from Norway and didn't Eber live there for a while as a child? Do i have the right country? I hope some fans take that scum paper over the goals and that they are forced to apologize for their headline and for the way they were disrespectful to Adam. Yep. You have the right country.

I think what we have to remember is that all these promo interviews represent Adam going to work. No matter how upbeat and optimistic a person you are, no matter how much you love your job there are simply days you'd rather be somewhere else. Especially during those times where your job requires you to put in extra time for one special event or another. You are happy to do the work, you wouldn't want to not have that job, but jeez louise some days are just naturally more difficult to get excited over than others. Adam is extraordinarily gifted in his ability to do 300 identical interviews in one day and make each one seem special although you know inside he is wishing for someone to ask something interesting or amusing. But during a promo push this intense I'd be surprised if a crack didn't show from time to time. He's human. He's a very happy and positive person, he is at a marvelous place in his life, and his future is brighter than a thousand suns. Don't be upset for him- I am sure he wouldn't want that. It's just the way promo and show business work and he's happy to have these opportunities. His having a less that perfect moment or two is understandable under the circumstances IMO.

NewNowNext VIDEO: Adam Lambert Talks Dream Date, Idols logo.to/w5YmXr5 minutes ago Marie, can you get those to play on your iPad? It looks like a compatible player at first, but when I click on it, just get a black screen. It's been same with all NNN vids. :( ETA: I love this, Aleksandra. And I hope his album is comparable to those annalogies. It's frustrating as hell that WE know the most talented, deserving, innovative person is having to work and fight twice or three times as hard but still comes up against arbitrary BS, but if he is happy with the album he created, that's huge. He will be working and promoting this album all year, so we're only at the beginning of the journey. Great essay again, NoAngel!!!

After all my above ramblings, I ventured to watch the stupid Norwegian interview because, yes, I'm that masochistic.
It is a stupid interview. I didn't notice anything off in Adam's reactions, though. He's not satisfied, but it's hardly his first time, lol, and definitely his last to be forced to deal with such stuff.
I have a questions for Ninjas: before an interview is released, does it get approved by Adam? Or can anyone just do what they want and ask what they want?
If he approved of this one, then he might not be entirely dissatisfied.

NoAngel your essay was terrific -- I was going to say "as usual" but that devalues the work and thought you put into this each and every week! So thoughtful and timely. I think the issue of "realness" is very tied in with what aleksandrakv and buders both address so well above. And I think that in many ways this something that we are all going to have to agree to disagree about. Our perceptions of how Adam is feeling about what is happening at any given moment are so based on our own feelings, our own life experiences, how WE would feel under the same circumstances. People who are zen may think Adam is zen and people who are freaking out may have a hard time imagining that Adam is OK. When it comes to how Adam is feeling we're all just guessing, and none of us can be objective. If Adam is anything like a regular person even HE might not know exactly how he feels all the time. It's been a tough few days Adam-wise with things up in the air again. NoAngel calls for us to be kind and understanding towards Adam and my hope is that we will extend the same idea towards ourselves and the others who post on the board.

Wow , I'm not getting good vibes from Adam in that interview gelly posted above. Maybe he wasn't feeling well. Maybe it was the questions. Maybe it was the interviewer, or a combination of circumstances. I don't know, something feels off to me. They concentrated mainly on Adam being gay, to AMA's, the Finnish incident. Main thing for the promo - the new album got not much attention. From the video I got the vibe that Adam was a bit annoyed - and I'm not surprised. When I saw the title of the video.. I was like.. Was that what I think it was? "Homolife". And this is from Norway, did they know that Adam is 25% Norway?? :-/
