I feel bad for even suggesting this, but why would queen consider playing sonisphere to be "incredible" news? Goods news, great news even, but not earth shattering. And I know that queen loves Adam, but he's already sung with them so announcing that he will sing with them again isn't earth- shattering either. I think queen will announce they are playing at the Olympics. Or it could be something else that has nothing to do with Adam at all. R U SRS RN? First off no one said this news was earth shattering so maybe ppl need to adjust their expectations lest they get masisvely let down. Secondly they are not gonna announce the Olympics. It's too early and come on...Shosh and Sonisphere AND QUEEN all have an announcement today and you think it could be the OLYMPICS??!!? Jigga wut? lmao. Ok den... As for it not being a big deal...it kind of is. It's a huge gig that will give lots of people who never would have been exposed to him before to see what he can do, the press cycle will be glorious, plus it's a HUGE honor to play with Queen at the same place of their last concert with Freddie in their 40th anniv year. Plus it will be a huge payday for him and possibly open the doors for even more concerts...it's a win win. Sorry if this seems~snippy but I JUST got over being pissed about seeing ppl onn twitter with the whole THIS ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH mentality on twitter and then I come here and see the same thing. FFS can we all just be happy for once??? Srsly it's a good thing.

Hard to top this gig for sure.

So if I'm doing the math correctly, 8 pm GMT is 3 pm here on the east coast of the US?
One person's "incredible" is another person's meh...but I'm on the "incredible" bus if it turns out the Sonisphere rumor is true. Performing with Queen gave Adam 2.0 an incredible boost in a tough market (UK) and performing with them again (especially when he's had some time to rehearse AND now has the confidence of knowing he kicked ass the first time) can only help.
Besides, as a huge fan of Rawk Adam's voice...more would be sooooo wonderful. Especially if I could download a live performance CD. What would also be cool is if Queen helped Adam perform Cuckoo or whichever song it was that Niles played on (Shady?)
I would love it, regardless. There are so few performers who have the power and range to truly sing balls to the wall rock...sorry, but there are a ton of WGWGs who can lean into the mike and whisper more or less on key, but a true rock powerhouse is a rare and wonderful thing.
Only IMHO, of course.
ETA: Remembering the interview with Adam and Queen post EMAs...I remember one of them saying how thrilled they were to still be relevant. These guys aren't youngsters anymore and in rock world, they've seen too many of their peers go down in flames one way or another. To actually be headliners of the biggest rock festival in Europe at this stage of life?
I think incredible might be a bit of an understatement.

Queen might consider it incredible news because the last time they played Knebworth was the last performance with Freddie. Maybe just maybe Brian and Roger feel like the best time they've had onstage since Freddie has been with Adam. I am not inside their heads but if that is what it feels like to them why belittle it? Brian and Roger were positively giddy with joy following the EMA performance so it doesn't seem too odd to me that they would consider a headlining concert gig with Adam to be incredible. Perhaps they never thought they could have that much of a high on stage again?
