Avari, I definitely see where you're coming from. Obviously, this gig for Adam is HUUUUGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEE!!!! Whether it meets the criteria for HUGE for Queen, I guess we'll see when it's announced. If the news is indeed that they are playing Sonisphere with Adam, I will be so thrilled and totally verklempt that they consider it "incredible". And I do think that will be the news. And I will flail my ass off! <--------- preflailing BTW, does anyone know the last time Queen had an actual concert gig? And who sang with them? I would say it is incredible for Queen and their fans because this is the location they last did a full concert with Freddie! Gosh, that sounds pretty incredible to me and for it to be with a vocalist that makes them so damn happy to perform with, Roger and Brian might possibly be more excited about this gig than Adam is! Did you all see their faces during and after performing at the EMAs! "Proud Papas" indeed!

As far as I can tell, Queen's last concert tour was in Europe in 2008 with Paul Rodgers as lead singer. After that, Queen and Rodgers parted ways. I don't think they have done a full-length concert since then. And I am quietly flailing about what the news could be! If it is Sonisphere, I will be thrilled for all of you UK peeps!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you. ETA: Well, found out more info ... Queen's last tour was in Europe, followed by South America. So their last concert was in South America in late 2008/early 2009 (not sure about the South American dates). The band and Paul Rodgers officially announced their split in May 2009. It doesn't look like Queen did any full-length concerts after that last tour.

@faultmagazine: HUGE @adamlambert NEWS to be announced at 8pm GMT today! UK fans will not want to miss this! This is definitely Sonisphere and it is HUUUUUGGGGEEEE news and all in good time. Even if the Olympics were locked and loaded, I don't know if they'd upstage this announcement with that announcement. Yes, Brian and Roger have played to huge audiences, but how long has it been since they've performed as Queen? Since Paul Rodgers? They've been looking for years for a singer who can handle it and now they've found him. Can we please celebrate one thing at a time and be happy about it? Olympics are NOT likely to be announced this early anyway. And think about it, IF they were involved in the official ceremonies, they'd likely only sing a song or two, where this will be an entire set!!! I want both, of course, but am totally content to flail my brains out with this announcement for now. My favorite singer ever is collaborating with my favorite band ever, so I am ... We'll get vids and can rip CDs ... OMG!!! The songs I've been dreaming about hearing him sing since Idol!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!Happy birthday NEEDACOKE!!! twitter.com/#!/FAULTMagazine/status/171616687953682432

OK, I'm back and as I thought, to be offline doesn't mean that you have logged out, only that you have closed your internet connection. I probably do that multiple times in an evenings viewing, so it would seem like I have gone when in actuality I am probably just checking email. Constantly closing my connection may be a hold over from dial-up because I know my sons usually just minimize when they are doing something offline. Thanks for helping me wal, I just like to know these things. I actually responded to you also but did the quote wrong. You showed on line to me, the entire time you were gone. How could it show one way for wal and another for me? :-/ I saw you inside that quote box and just assumed that you checked me out after I re-opened my connection and while I was typing my "I'm back" post. That is strange. Ahhh, the mysteries of the intertubes.

Do you think John Deacon will join them for this concert? That would be big news, too. But he probably won't do it. I wonder if he'd do it for the Olympics?
Now, if Adam is doing Sonisphere with Queen.....we'll have to make our playlist up! 8-)

in our culture of hyperbole, it is sometimes difficult to think Anything is really a big deal, because pretty much everything is a big deal.
So avari i think i understand what you mean.
we in the fandom have been hearing about adam singing with queen at this event for days and even though it has been officially a rumor, it is hard not to just assume it to be. And then maybe we all don't know that much about sonisphere at KNEBWORTH as being a very Legit gig. perhaps a type of olympics for the rock world.
after reading about knebworth i gained in new appreciation of what it would mean to play there and with the legendary queen. queen played there in 1986 so returning is celebratory in itself. was it really their last concert together with Freddy Mercury??????? OMG this would be an Amazing and a Cosmic moment in time.. and adam would be part of it. gasp.
ICONIC.
