Lovely voice ,but IMHO can't hold a candle to Adam in vocals, delivery or charisma.Just saying Good voice, true. But is lacking the intensity, the strength, and delivery that Adam oozes. In other words, Adam will blow this guy and all other Queen guests out of the water.

geez, i would hate to think adam could not handle a 1.5 to 2 hour gig. I get pretty pissed off if a concert is less than that. i gave adam a pass on gnt because he did not have much material and well because he is afl. but i would hope future shows would be at least 90 minutes. Um, actually, 1.5 to 2 hours is a very long time to sing the way that Adam sings. Most pop songs and rock songs have a very narrow range. About an octave, with most of the notes in the song in only about a 5 note range. The phrases are short. the singers take frequent breaths in the middle of phrases. Also, they may not be singing for all that time: dance breaks, banter between songs, costume changes. Not to mention that many DO NOT EVEN SING, but lip sync or sing very lightly over a backing track. Adam's songs and his creativity with them are a different thing altogether. They have much more range, and when he sings live, he adds extra riffs that extend the range further. He also supports the musical lines with extraordinary breath control. That requires muscles, and, it is a real work out. Adam sings full out all the time. Doesn't take the easy way out. Never lip syncs and depends on the backing track. What he is doing requires tremendous energy. Imagine yourself giving a speech in a formal setting for 1.5 or 2 hours. Just talking, your voice would probably start to give out. Yes, Adam has the technique to do what most mere mortals cannot, but assailing the Queen repertoire and the Mercury stage energy is going to push him to the max. It would be very smart to give Adam short breaks. Protect that voice, and revive that energy. Makes sense to me. If Freddie Mercury could do it night after night, Adam can sing his songs for one night. There are many singers out there who have a huge range (Mariah) who did concerts that were an hour and a half + on a regular basis. A speech for 1 and a half or 2 hours? Singers do shows that are 90 minutes or more on a regular basis! A 90 minute show is not unusual, in the past or present!

I don't think that Adam is upset. They are talking about challenge; it will be a challenge for him to win those Queen and hardcore rock fans to his side; maybe this was his way to announce that he's ready for that challenge. He can take it and is willing to do everything to make it work.

Freddie purests think Queen should have stopped performing when he died. NO ONE is good enough. I honestly think that Adam is getting this hate because for the first time, Queen has chosen a vocalist that is as good or maybe even better than Freddie. They feel threatened that the songs will sound as good as when Freddie sang them. So far, only George Michael's has accomplished that and it was one song(I think), one time, so no threat!

Well in a way they are right...once Adam sings Queen songs..it will be hard for ME to go back to listening to Freddie...but that is just me .. ETA...I can't to see what and how Adam interprets Queen songs...so exciting

Very appropriate reading today indeed, but do you know where it is from? Oops, sorry, didn't realize there was no header on that page. It's by Lisa Verrico. The Sunday Times (UK): 18 December 2011.
