If Freddie Mercury could do it night after night, Adam can sing his songs for one night. There are many singers out there who have a huge range (Mariah) who did concerts that were an hour and a half + on a regular basis. A speech for 1 and a half or 2 hours? Singers do shows that are 90 minutes or more on a regular basis! A 90 minute show is not unusual, in the past or present! I see your point Tigerlily. However, many of those old rockers blew out their voices prematurely. Adam actually understands vocal production and probably will go to great lengths to preserve his chords. The greatest opera singers pace themselves carefully too. That is probably the ultimate in extreme singing. They get a long intermission and generally don't sing an opera 2 nights in a row. Yes, they did- but that was after doing worldwide tours that lasted a year or two and after a couple of decades of those types of tours. We are taling about ONE show here. Is Adam's voice really that delicate? He should be able to do what other artists are doing, both presently and in the past, several times a week for years! This isn't an opera and Adam is not an Opera singer. These are Queen's songs and Freddie Mercury sang these exact same songs for hours every week on massively long tours. One night of singing Freedie's songs (that FM didn't have problems with) is not asking too much of Adam or his voice. Adam is capable of singing for an hour and a half.

I'm so sorry to be high maintenance and needy, but I have a four-hour drive ahead of me tomorrow and am trying to update my car music. I went over to the EMAs thread but I got very confused...I am trying to find the 8+ minute audio to download (WHICH I would happily pay for from any official site, if there is one). Anyone have a link handy?

Ok guys - haven't read the thread yet, but I'm begging for help trying to figure out how to get FROM Knebworth TO London for a Sunday am flight that will get me home in time for my dad's birthday. I heard info about buses, trains, rides, etc, but I know nothing. PLEASE HELP! Anything anyone posts will make me eternally grateful. ETA: Um, should probably be posted in the meetup thread (bad mod). adamtopia.com/index.cgi?board=membersonly&action=display&thread=736&page=1

Freddie purests think Queen should have stopped performing when he died. NO ONE is good enough. I honestly think that Adam is getting this hate because for the first time, Queen has chosen a vocalist that is as good or maybe even better than Freddie. They feel threatened that the songs will sound as good as when Freddie sang them. So far, only George Michael's has accomplished that and it was one song(I think), one time, so no threat! www.deaneogden.com/2012/02/14/adam-lambert-queen-and-creativity/#In a way the haters are also being disrespectful to Queen itself. If they love the band so much why don't they embrace their choices or at least give this one choice, Adam , a chance.Still in all if they don't like the line up ,shut up and don't attend the festival.

Gotta agree with Tigerlilly. If Adam is going to do bigger venues and presumably charge bigger prices, he needs to do a 90 minute concert. I go to a lot of concerts, and unless it is a tiny venue, if I don't get a 90 minute show from the headliner, I feel gypped. He knows how to handle his voice and will probably lower the keys, like he did for Glam Nation. Also, if he does bigger venues, he will do fewer concerts. That is how the bigger stars get by with longer shows, they do less shows. That's why I am hoping that Trespasing is big enough for Adam to jump up in venue size. I agree! I've never been to any other concert that was only an hour in length, unless it was a concert that had co-headliners. Adam will need to add at least 30 minutes to his next tour set , or he will need to be in a co-headlining situation. (which I am sure many fans wouldn't like) Fewer shows and bigger venues are the next logical steps for the Trespassing tour.

Adam Lambert @adamlambert
Haters: y'all just adding fuel to my fire! U make me work harder. Thank you for the motivation. Makes me so sad that he constantly has to put up with this crap! What is this? Are people being ugly to him on twitter?

Excellent point of view everyone :D When he starts his Trespassing Tour, Adam can do 90 minutes since he got more materials to choose now and he does have an option to vary his keys in his songs as we have known him to do all the time, depending on how he feels that particular time. He can lower the key, blast it out or whatever and we still love whatever he does. JMHO.... Singing the Queen songs is completely a different ballgame, IMO. His live performance will be compared to Freddie's studio recordings and if he will sing the songs in its original key version (plus we know he will add more to it and sustain longer riffs like he did with TSMGO), he will need a vocal rest (maybe after sets of 4 if he sings 10-12 or more songs?). With Queen songs he will opt to sing the original key or haters will come after him and say "I told you so. He can't sing like Freddie..." I, for one is glad Roger mentioned some guest to sing and even he and Brian might so something too . During this break, Adam not only will have his vocal rest but also change his wardrobe maybe from a suit to leather to casual... ;D

Yeah, yeah, yeah -- no one can replace Freddie......here we go again. It's enough for me that Brian and Roger have hand picked Mr. Lambert to perform with them.
