I hope someone reminds Adam that it will July 7 and outdoors, so he might want to have a number of outfits ready. In London it can be 50 or 100 on July 7. It will feel like Lubbock if he's in leather in that kind of weather. I guess by the time he takes the stage it will be dark, but still! Don't worry. In London it's NEVER hot, like summer hot. Never! When the sun comes down, or even during day time when there's not enough sun you always have to have a jacket or sweater or something. The sun comes out, you get the jacket off, the sun dissappears, you wear the jacket again, and again and again , you might do this 4 times an hour during day time, and you always wear a jacket during nights, especially outside of London, in the countryside. And we're talking about a SoCal boy here, he will be just fine with lots of leather. I don't know....when I went to the UK my first adult time I went the last 2 weeks of September and 1st week of October. Everyone warned me of how cold it would be so I took lots of woolies and sweat tops! WRONG....It got so hot a few days that I had to take a couple of the long tees and a lighter sweat top and cut off the sleeves and add a few holes..seriously....it was really warm, sunny and lovely! Go figure! My weekend in Paris...that same trip....was amazingly warm and sunny also.... the lesson here is layers I suppose

www.wistv.com/story/16983245/idols-adam-lambert-to-sing-with-rock-band-queenIdol's Adam Lambert to sing with rock band Queen By HILARY FOX and NICKI FINLAY Associated Press LONDON (AP) - Adam Lambert has nabbed his dream gig: Singing vocals for the iconic British band Queen as they headline the second day of the U.K. rock festival Sonisphere 2012. The former "American Idol" singer-songwriter will step into the late Freddie Mercury's shoes for the band's July 7 set at Knebworth Park in Stevenage, north of London. Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor confirmed the one-time collaboration Tuesday with Lambert, 30, a runner-up in season eight of the popular American TV song competition. The Sonisphere show marks the third time Lambert has sung with the landmark band, following an eight-minute set at the MTV Europe Awards in November to celebrate Queen's Global Icon Award, and a 2009 performance of "We Are the Champions" on "American Idol." "It's great, they are the coolest guys, they are so down-to-earth," Lambert told The Associated Press in a recent interview in London.

I bought my very first 100% wool sweater 25 years ago in Oxford in July because I was a foolish Texas girl who had no understanding that in July, it might be cold in other countries....

Some of the adverse reactions by the Queen fans may be due to the wording some news articles are using. Like The Guardian that is saying the Adam _replaces_ Freddie: www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012/feb/21/queen-adam-lambert-freddie-mercury?CMP=twt_gu (The Guardian is a respected British newspaper.) We of course know that this is not what is intended by anyone. But if you are a fan and see this headline, it's understandable that the first reaction is rejection. ETA: Aaand I just realized this was discussed a few pages back, and NoAngel's great comment from earlier today was also related to this article. People on this board are super fast!

My son came to visit, and he asked me: "have you heard, that your great idol Adam Lambet will perform with the Queen?" Me in my thoughts : -Yes, of course!!! I have been awake the half of the night, waiting for the information .. And now the whole world talk about him. He is in every News, in every magazine. Isn't it fantastic!!!! And I would like to see him live with the Queen.... Me aloud : "I've heard.- where did you hear about this news?" -Divided personality?

Ditto. I always feel like I have to behave with similar nonchalance when friends and family give me Adam related news. They seem so excited to tell me and fairlY clueless that anything they tell me I have probably known for days or possibly weeks.

The comments inside the article are nasty :Despite the tenor of May's correspondence, not everyone is excited about Queen's strategic partnership with 30-year-old Lambert. "Poor Freddie," tweeted one fan. Freaks & Geeks producer Josh Weinstein made an unflattering comparison to Queen's previous fill-in frontman: "Adam Lambert will be singing with Queen," he wrote. "Yes, that's how much Paul Rodgers lowered the bar."
