It’s hard to believe, when I look at these pictures, that agewise Adam could be Auli‘i‘s father.

It’s hard to believe, when I look at these pictures, that agewise Adam could be Auli‘i‘s father. Yes! And he looks even younger with all the weight loss and the clean shave. He looks fantastic. And yes, he's old enough to be her dad. Yep he looks good. And based on some of the people he surrounds himself with (maybe not that young but they act as if they are) and the kind of music he puts out, I don't think Adam cares about the age difference or how it looks, lol. And the reviews for Cabaret have been good so that works out great for both of them. I have been watching some of the videos of Closer to You, Feel Something, Believe, WLL, WWTLF, TSMGO, Sex on Fire, On the Moon and Underneath and I can't help but wonder what if they had promoted and pushed that type of music for Adam. Adele and early Sam put out work that was not typical pop and it was played on pop radio but appealed to a wide audience with great results ( and I think Adam was better). But based on Adam's interviews for Afters, tho there were album cuts that showcased his voice, my guess is that was just not the type of music he wanted promoted cause that was different from what he and his community liked. But nice to hear the great feedback for his vocals for Cabaret.

I am very happy he is getting great reviews. I shudder when singers like Harry Styles try acting and are panned. He does look great, but I still can't see this face under the face we saw several months ago with the beard and white hair. He just looks so totally different to me, maybe not in person. He has the same face as the 26 year old, just not as round, more square jawed which gives him a little bit of an older look.

The new Broadway Grosses Analyses was posted on reddit. Cabaret with the new cast didn’t hold up to the old cast. They lost money, if I understand it correctly. It’s not too bad, but it was their first week and it‘s probably even harder to pick up from there. Well, we can just hope, that the fall and winter season will bring enough people into the theater.
The discussion under the post are also interesting. Link:https://www.reddit.com/r/Broadway/comments/1fojc5p/post_broadway_week_grosses_analysis_week_ending/
Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club - $1.0 million gross, 90% capacity, $134 atp (Down ~$165k from last week)
Gross Less-Fees: $867k; Weekly Operating Cost: $974k/week; Estimated Profit (Loss): (156k); Reserves Remaining: $2 million
Award Wins: Drama Desk (2), Tonys (1)
First week of performances for Adam Lambert and Auli'i Cravalho, and returns aren't all that great so far. It's tough to know if this is just the fall slowdown, or if these grosses are indicative of things to come for this production. But there are takeaways here. First, this show lives and dies based off of who they have stunt-cast. Second, if this show does not turn things around, they are unlikely to make it to next summer. Hopefully things turn up for them, rumor is there are a lot of new Broadway investors on this project, and I would hate for them to be put off of investing in future projects if things don't improve here. If this show were to stop making money from here on out, it would likely be a loss of nearly $20 million.
