I don't remember seeing any grandstands ! But I was a long way to the back and just watching on the screen (which is all I expect to see this year as well !) hmmm... ok. So, if you wanted to get fairly close to the stage, you'd have to go stake out your spot at 7 o'clock in the morning? And not move all day. Right? : No one will be able to make it to the front. Sonisphere is not a pop concert. Even though I've never been to Knebworth I think I could make it to the front for a pop concert. I've been many times 10 hours in the front waiting. But here is the thing with Sonisphere. These are rockers. The minute the music starts, all the front rows up to 100 meters-200 meters and more, you feel like you are in a HUGE WAVE moving along with them, you don't control your body, you just flow. Don't think of getting a picture or a video. Don't think of being able to do anything else than let yourself go with the wave. Otherwise you might hurt yourself. I've been to many many rock concerts and this is ALWAYS the case. Sometimes when I don't feel well I just move to the front side so I won't be in the center of the wave. So this time IF I'll be there I will try to be as close as possible but I don't think I can make it, the place is HUUUUUGE!!!! I've been to concerts with about 30000 people , never with so many!!!!

@catz: Bringing this over from yesterday's thread (was at the end, so I'm not sure you saw it - Damn NZ time zone!! ;D ) Today at 18:00, Catzmadam wrote:. Not to add any more pressure, @catz, but there are 3 NZGlitterTribers planning on going!!! Tonita, Trudy & Vesna!!!! IF I win Lotto, I may be able to justify it but tbh my credit card still hasn't fully recovered from my US trip!!! LOL! (Almost there, but not quite & not prepared to go into debt for this) Will wait patiently for HIS tour - to see him on his own doing his music - not that I wouldn't LOVE to see him with Queen - OMFG it would be incredible!!! As much as I absolutely adore my country, living at the bottom of the world does have its disadvantages!! BUT SO EFFING THRILLED FOR EVERYONE HERE WHO IS GOING!!!! At least I'll be able to live vicariously through your posts, pics & vids!! ;D ;D

Premium Grandstand Reserved Seating
I just call the Sonisphere ticket office to try and find out exactly what we're getting for our £474.00 Premium Grandstand Reserved Seated tickets - besides a barbecue, free booze and private toilets. The gal I talked to was very nice and was scrambling around trying to find a map, but Sonisphere hadn't issued any yet. She assured me several times, however, that for a premium ticket we will be at the front. I told her that I had been looking at the 360° view camera and could see no grandstands anywhere. I also didn't think that people who had been standing pressed against the fence since 7am would appreciate being pushed back while a group of VIPs are herded in as abuse is heaped on their heads. ;D She laughed and said it wouldn't be like that and that we will have "Reserved Seated" tickets exactly as it says, very close to the front. She also said that the reserved seats are issued on a first-come first-serve basis and that because we are buying into the pre-sale ( the regular public cannot buy tickets until Thursday), those of us buying now would get the best seats. I'm going to call again near the end of the week because she said by that time they should have maps and be able to say more clearly just where that grand stand is located but it will definitely not be at the back - not for that kind of money she said!
I'll post this in the concert thread as well because sometimes posts get lost in the shuffle here.

Wow thank you for doing this. Makes me feel better about the three VIP tickets I bought today. I am thrilled that so many of us are going! gelly hit it on the head. For me, it works to buy the tickets first and figure everything out later. I can decide not to go. But I would never forgive myself if I didn't give myself the opportunity to make that decision. I feel like we're going to be part of something HUGE in Adam's life. What better reason to go than to attend a concert by a legendary band, fronted by a soon-to-be legend in the making?

This is from the London showcase (that Angelina attended). It seems to be a professional job of filming and editing. Hmmm. Was this a radio gig, too? Might they have filmed it to put on their site? Is there more to come? Also, anyone know how to rip this? Cuz it says it is it is the first edit for approval on direction. I suspect this was NOT supposed to leak. It was posted the 15th but only had 3 views until today. It might disappear quickly if it was a leak. 2012-02-03 London Showcase atop.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=tres&thread=698&page=1#168467BTIKM Photobucket Video:

So many "IF" so many... It was late at night for me ,when the announcement happend, and I was watching on twitter and here everyone buying tickets, and mys*&@^#r and tinafea on twitter egging me to go and here at Atop everyone egging me to go, but I don't act spontaneously EVER. So I was calm for 2 hours almost saying to myself, that it's ok . And then I talked with my daughter and she's not sure she can leave work and I said ok I'm not going, ok again. But then before I went to bed I was sure that I will regret it , if I don't buy at least the tickets and maybe I will force myself to proceed to everything else. I used my credit card, something I've never ever done online. I only use prepaid card, I'm very afraid, but I didn't have money on the prepaid card! Also I always prepare everything for a trip before buying tickets. But then again that's exactly what happened when I booked the tickets for London and Birmingham GNT, I bought the tickets first, before the venues were sold out and then proceeded to everything else, even though I was SURE I wouldn't manage to go. This is the second time in my life I'm doing this and if I will manage to go I know it will be EPIC. So Catz buy the FUCKING TICKETS and THINK LATER!!!! That's how it started with me in early 2010..... bought a ticket to Costa Mesa concert - just in case!.... (was only about $50NZD - not much) but then I got to thinking..... HOW THE FUCK WILL I SURVIVE BEING STUCK HERE IN NZ KNOWING THE CONCERT IS HAPPENING AND I HAD A TICKET TO BE THERE!!!! ;D And the rest is history!!!! Got me a flight, booked accommodation, ended up with 2 more concert tickets (SF & other CM show) and have never regretted it! GO @gelly GO!!!!!!!! JUST DO IT - YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!! (But you may very well regret NOT going!!!!)

This is really interesting! Earlier this evening I watched several random vids from Knebworth/Sonisphere, and looked at the pics that were posted, and all I see FROM ALL ANGLES is a massive crush of people squished up against the barrier in front of the stage. No place do I see seats of any kind remotely near the stage. I'm wondering if maybe the whole VIP thing is new for this year? ??? I'm kinda dying to know where the heck they'll be putting the VIP seating!!
