Then I was watching a local Florida TV station and they reported that Adam was singing with Queen. OMG, this must be really big news. Bigger than I even imagined. So happy. Adam is truly one of the big ones and an international star. I wonder if he is scared. I feel scared for this big deal English concert. I want him to blow it out of the water. I want everyone to see him for everything that he is. Exciting times. Now if only we could get Trespassing..... This Queen publicity is the type of thing that money cannot buy. And no- I don't think Adam is scared- to me that's the wrong word. I think he is motivated (as well as naturally inclined) to be very well prepared! There will be adrenaline, I'm sure. Mick Jagger probably still feels adrenaline when looking out over a crowd that size, it's kind of unavoidable. But Adam knows about adrenaline as well as anyone and will be ready and chomping at the bit. After the first few notes all of that will drop away and he will soar like we know he can! You have to wonder if this is taken under consideration as they form their setlist and decide what to open with though. Oh, to be a fly on the wall as Roger and Brian discuss this. My fingers are crossed that all of this is being documented for a behind the scenes look at Queen's appearance- it is, after all, a worthy topic for a documentary. Just imagine if we get a DVD that has Brian and Roger discussing Adam, either in preparation, rehearsals, or before/after the show. And the performance! IT COULD HAPPEN!!!

The news about Adam singing with Queen made the Entertainment section of my local newspaper, The Salt Lake Tribune! It's the Associated Press story. I was really excited when I looked through the paper and saw Adam's picture with the headline "Lambert to Front Queen for a Day." Murly, the same thing happened to me. We have a little half-assed paper here that gets smaller and smaller. I expect it to be two pages someday. But I was so excited that they picked up the Adam/Queen story and even printed a picture of Adam (a good one) from the Glamnation tour. I was so hyped. I bet Adam is excited -- he's a pro -- I would guess that performing is what it is mainly about for him. Once he gets a feel for an audience that huge there will be no stopping him. He's a fearless performer.

i thought there was a members thread about the sonisphere concert. isn't that where all the conversation and lists of attendees should be posted? I've just been posting my smilie with the people going to Sonisphere here because I was excited for them and thought people might want to see an updated list. Let me know if I shouldn't be doing this or where I should put it. I don't go to the Sonisphere thread since I won't be going to Sonisphere.. I've just been trying to keep up with the news threads. lol

sort of OT here but...does anyone here have academic journal access to Taylor and Francis? Here is the citation and link to what may be an interesting article: 'This is why mainstream America votes against gays, Adam Lambert': contemporary outness and gay celebrity A Brady - Celebrity Studies, 2011 - Taylor & Francis This article utilises Adam Lambert in an analysis of the politics of contemporary gay celebrity. It positions Lambert within a media context in which displays of same-sex attraction are increasing, even as the attachment of those displays to identity is rendered ... Related articles
