I think radio stations know exactly what is going on with these silly challenges. It pits fanbase against fanbase. And they love to hit up reality show fanbases. David Archuleta won TONS of these things, lol. So did David Cook. Kelly Clarkson not so much. Do most people even know who Ryan Star is? Bottom line, radio is making no decisions based on who wins these challenges. If they did, certain Idol contestants would be ruling the airwaves. In a weird way, I think it's better that Adam doesn't win some of these things. It separates him from the Idol bubble and makes his fanbase look just a little less OTT. Play if you want to, but general requesting and voting for things like VH1 are much more valuable. I agree. I don't play these games and I wish others would stop too. Obviously, it's not doing a bit of good and it does makes us look like ridiculous OTT fans. I'm also of the opinion that glamberts are not very popular in general and maybe radio is not playing Adam's song as revenge against us. I know it sounds stupid but my mind goes there anyway. I request BTIKM occasionally in my hometown but it doesn't get played from what I've heard. Here's another crazy thought. Maybe if everyone backed off of radio requests and all these stupid games they want us to play, then maybe they would start playing his song. Just a thought. Please don't shoot me. ;D |

Idol fans aren't hurting their idol's airplay, in fact for some idols that's really the only selling point the idol has left in the larger media world, whether or not stations play their latest single. I agree that polls vary in importance and need to be evaluated on a case by case individual basis (and we've already given many pints of blood to sophie). But requests? If you are very polite, follow the rules about requesting locally 1x a day (or 2 to 3 x a week for a station that hasn't spun), don't slag off other artists or music, there is no bad that I can see there. |

That Katomo feature was a treat! And I didn't understand a word of what she was saying. ;D ;D But it was obviously a rather in-depth, respectful piece about Adam. No sensationalism or pandering. Was this taped the day after he had been so sick? It seems like someone said that earlier. Adam was much more subdued and low key than in other interviews. But, looking at the setting for the interview, and looking and listening to the interviewer, I think it is more a reflection of Adam doing his "thing" of matching the interviewer's communication style and body language. Damn! He looked classy! We are translating the Finnish parts at the moment  . |

Until the tell-all autobiography comes out in 30 years, all we're doing is speculating about what is going on in Adam's head Note to self: Live at least 30 more years. This is exactly what I was thinking. I hope it happens befor than because I want to read it. |

I just did Alice. The Star link didn't work. I hear the song on Alice and I hear WWFM on Star. I don't listen to the radio much though.... I don't listen to radio much anymore, but when I do it's classic rock. Queen performing again is a big big deal for classic rock fans. I wonder if the DJ's are talking about it and mentioning Adam. Anyone heard anything on classic rock stations?
