Hi Cookie, My daughter reads long boring scientific articles that look like some kind of punishment!!! So when I saw you mention this, I thought it might be interesting, but maybe someone else could read it and give me the executive summary. I would read the whole thing if it was really good though!!!

The news about Adam singing with Queen made the Entertainment section of my local newspaper, The Salt Lake Tribune! It's the Associated Press story. I was really excited when I looked through the paper and saw Adam's picture with the headline "Lambert to Front Queen for a Day." Murly, the same thing happened to me. We have a little half-assed paper here that gets smaller and smaller. I expect it to be two pages someday. But I was so excited that they picked up the Adam/Queen story and even printed a picture of Adam (a good one) from the Glamnation tour. I was so hyped. Then I was watching a local Florida TV station and they reported that Adam was singing with Queen. OMG, this must be really big news. Bigger than I even imagined. So happy. Adam is truly one of the big ones and an international star. I wonder if he is scared. I feel scared for this big deal English concert. I want him to blow it out of the water. I want everyone to see him for everything that he is. Exciting times. Now if only we could get Trespassing..... So great that the Queen news is garnering so much attention. As to whether Adam is scared, IMO he probably does feel some fear (mixed with adrenaline) but he knows well at this point how to channel that into performance energy, much as he is using the haters' comments now to fuel his preparation. And thank God for the learning experience of the AMAs! BTW -- someone yesterday commented on how comprehensive Adam's Wikipedia write-up is. I had never checked it out, so I took a look. It does appear, in fact, very comprehensive but unless I'm mistaken there is absolutely no description of the AMA performance -- only the occasional reference to it when describing other performances. As in, "unlike the controversial AMA performance...". But no explanation of what the AMA performance was. Selective editing apparently. :  |

Ummm... guise.... scared witless right now.... but last night I officially booked my VIP pass to Sonisphere.Am totally, completely terrified by the hugeness of it all... but FLAiLING nonetheless... Yesterday I had THE hugest day EVAH - seriously!!!!! Some of you know about my RL problems that my neighbours and I are having with a landslip that has been affecting our land and houses. The damage has been accelerating in recent months and has been getting quite scary (huge cracks internally, my floors are now uneven, houses and concrete driveways moving etc). We have all been on hold because the Earthquake Commission didn't pay us out enough to get the land fixed properly. Trust me - the fix needed is major. The land portion fix alone will cost around $1.5 million. Getting our six houses fixed is a seperate (and also expensive) issue. We asked for help from our city council and the to'ing and fro'ing has been going on for the last 9 months. Yesterday Auckland Transport & the Highest Powers That Be who run this city, have just told us officially that they will contribute up to $500,000 (in addition to our EQC money) to fix our land. This is huge!!!! You cannot conceive and have no idea how ~unusual this offer is from council (they normally ignore claims like ours and run away at a 1,000 miles per hour). This means we will get our land fixed properly - and not some half assed fix option that we were having to pursue recently. This also means that our properties will be able to be put on the market at proper market value levels again. This drama has been going on for two and a half years now and yesterday, we finally knew that we had the funds to make our homes safe again. This is INCREDIBLE news for us... so based on that (and a (prelim) clear mammogram \o/) I personally just went FUCK IT, threw caution to the wind and booked the ticket to Sonisphere as a celebration. Early days for me tho guys.... BUT mah ticket be booked right now! I can't believe I'mma going meet all you amazeballs Atop'ers  , see Adam live again, plus see MF Queen as well - oh and travel half way around the world ~again to do it. THREE amazing things in a row - I'se a happy little bunny right now.         |

eta--I hope this clarifies things---Radio doesn't care how old you are (obviously they want all the audience they can get), they just care that you actually like pop music and are a regular listener of their station when you are requesting/voting on their station. I agree that requesting needs to be done carefully, and the above makes emminent sense. Some things I'd avoid are requesting more than once a day (and keep it to 2 or 3x a week if the station hasn't played yet), ONLY requesting Adam (request other songs you like too), and of course, expressing impatience or frustration with the current artists on the playlist. I've seen that last too many times. Really, what DJ is going to listen to a fan that says, 'you play all that other crap' or 'not Bruno again!' before asking for a request. I'm also not disagreeing with the perceptions of the Chicago DJ (did you talk to him recently?) although I do think that there are several ways Adam has one foot outside the idol world in terms of airplay and fanbase as well. OK really going now... |
